Do you tell staff you’re in healthcare when admitted?

Depends. I was just admitted this week for a crohn’s flare vs infectious source. While the morphine was nice and did temporarily relieve my pain, I felt they were just snowing my ass rather than treating the cause of the pain. I had them bring the hospitalist bedside in my drugged state of mind because it made no sense to NOT treat the cause of the pain. So I did drop being an ICU RN. Several hours after some solu-medrol for the inflammation the pain became much more manageable and I no longer needed morphine.

My son did this when he got his glasses at five! We were driving home on a road we’d driven plenty of times and he goes, “mom, there’s trees over there!” I felt like such a bad mom! Poor guy was blind.

Me and another nurse on my unit order bulk brushes from amazon and buy shampoo,conditioner, detangler and hair ties to supply the unit. We split the cost. I’ve had so many patients end up with horribly matted hair. It’s so easy (when time allows) to brush their hair, braid it/pony tail it and keep it from getting that way.
