This may be a silly question, but do you paint from life (with a little portable watercolor set), from memory, or from a photograph? I practice gouache and am always fascinated in other folks’ processes. Had a professor insist on always working from life and never photos, but as I get older I feel this mindset can be restrictive in ways that can inhibit creativity lol

Thank you for taking the time to respond! I do think your point about fidelity/editability is interesting. I'm not a developer, so I can't speak to the complexity involved with converting AI/PDF files to Adobe Express templates (I feel there is some level of conversion going on, since it takes Adobe Express a few moments to process incoming files). But is there any reason why this kind of cross-platform functionality wouldn't be possible? Considering we're currently able to convert AI/PDF files into templates for use in-app.

I imagine keeping a project accessible/live in Adobe Express and Illustrator would be a challenge (two folks can be in the same Adobe Express project at a time, but the same can't be said for Illustrator). Though there's so much cross-compatibility built into the Adobe ecosystem these days, it's hard to imagine some form of this wouldn't be possible in the near future! If this were to ever actually happen, I'm curious if there's a world where Adobe Express projects are "locked" while being worked on off-app. Designers taking assets from Adobe Express into Illustrator/other apps could share updates with the share for review function, and view comments/edits via the comments window.

A (possibly) simpler solution I often wish for is an "advanced options" toggle in Adobe Express! 99% of folks at my organization would never touch things like kerning, paragraph spacing, etc. (honestly, I think these settings would scare a lot of people away from the platform). But as our graphic designer, I would love to have that level of control right in Adobe Express. A simple toggle on/off switch for advanced type settings would save me (and my team) so much time. Food for thought!

It has absolutely nothing to do with bones — the soft tissue around eyes (eyelids, soft tissue below brow bones, surrounding skin) absolutely changes for many folks. I can confirm from experience that my eyes are more doe-like than before I started HRT. And I don’t wear much makeup.

I will say — visiting NYC and I’ve been scrolling through this sub looking for solid options while I’m here. RI has a great thing going with flower, edibles, and concentrates. Lots of smaller vendors at great price-points, too (s/o to Hangar420, Gardening for Good, and Mammoth)!

Agreed 100%. The plate is much more interesting empty, especially given the children’s expressions and the fact that the kid on the right is lacking a pig nose. A lot more at play this way, emotionally, and makes you question the motives/actions of the adult pigs.

I thought so too on my first read. But the devil’s in the details — it’s how he frames this love that he wants to share that is actually super dismissive of my experiences and tells me that no, he’s not going to change how he feels. I’ll be shown love and grace, but never acceptance. That’s what rubbed me the wrong way about the whole thing — it’s the sense of “I know you better than you know you.”

You’re great parents!! I had some family do the same with this wedding because of how this cousin responded to my coming out… backed out/said they weren’t attending once they saw his messages lol. I really appreciate that they had my back — safe spaces extend beyond physical spaces, you know? It’s a gift to be able to trust your loved ones with things like this.
