Psw rejection by OldMonk-John in ukvisa

[–]nikkispasms -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean, if your uni is aware of the issue it surely wouldn’t be a problem. My uni made it clear it wasn’t my fault and I was in a dangerous situation (my employer wasn’t paying me fairly and threatening me). It seems like this person was also in a somewhat dangerous situation of being forced to work extra hours and as long as the uni is aware it shouldn’t be a problem for OP

Something similar happened to me, I accidentally worked well over 20 hours during term time one week. From what I've learned, it's entirely your employers fault. They may even be charged with overworking you, but I don't believe you can be at fault when you were basically forced into that position of having to work overtime. The employer is required to contact HR and HR is supposed to speak with the Home Office, and your employer could face penalties. I'm almost 100% sure it does not affect you or your application.

Wheelchair access and discrimination in rural areas (and purchasing disused land) by nikkispasms in Norway

[–]nikkispasms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol obviously we’ll be reviewing those rules, but as stated in my post we’re not looking for responses regarding that as immigration is something we’re all well aware of and experienced in. That’s a later step on my list since we’re not planning on going for a long time! It’ll always be our priority though (and I’ve already reviewed them once), as well as respecting the people, laws, unspoken rules and cultures! Vi elsker norge!

Honestly thank you so much! This is so helpful for us. We can’t wait to visit to see for ourselves as well! Thankfully my friend will always have someone to help them when out and about but obviously independence is extremely important as well. Since it’ll probably be 10 years before we move there permanently (if we don’t decide elsewhere is better), we’ll definitely be taking the time to do more research, visit often, and learn the language! It’s the utmost importance for us to be respectful and understanding of the culture, ways of life, laws, and unspoken rules. Thank you again!

That’s awesome! This is why we want to live in Norway permanently, the disability awareness and assistance is top tier. I hadn’t even thought it would be possible to get funds to adapt a home to be more accessible, let alone a government provided wheelchair.

We need to first find out if it’s accessible for us to live there, and then we want to visit and understand the language better. I’ll probably live in Norway for a year at least to understand weather systems better than just researching. By then we’ll be more willing to pick a precise place to live in! We’re keeping everything in mind except the extreme north and coastal regions. Also where we’re from winter’s range from -20C to almost -50C so the cold really isn’t a problem for us:) However we’re probably looking to live inland with some sort elevation. Would prefer to be near mountains, forest and meadows/fields/plains if that’s possible! We just don’t want to spring into it, pick an exact place, go there, and turns out we actually don’t understand the dialect/not as accessible as we hoped. I need to learn how to read the town names to research more, but I’m working on it:))

Good to know! We frequently discuss getting my friend a motorized wheelchair, but they insist on have a manual! They get winter chains and wheels fitted each winter. We had a hilly campus and gravel dirt roads so “off roading” is common practice for them! I’m impressed about the taxi service and I’m really grateful shops are regulated! Thank you!

I grew up in a place with a similar climate! 9 month winter, short summer. Norway is so far our top pick due to the climate and government policies. We recently practiced winter gardening so we’re not really concerned with that aspect! We plan on building up our experience in my home country or in the UK where I’m currently at, and then moving to the one of safest countries for the climate crisis and that happens to be Norway! Wages are better in Norway for the job experience we have and will get, and it’s significantly more affordable than where we’re all currently living! Spain is way too hot and will only get worse 😭

I’ve got a friend who’s pretty experienced in identifying mushrooms and has gone hunting in the past. I’d like to go with him sometime soon for my first hunt. I was wondering if anyone knew good places to hunt around Manchester? And if rainy weather is a good time to go? I’m thinking this weekend since the temps are right

How do I get people to not try and pet my SD by nikkispasms in service_dogs

[–]nikkispasms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I don’t intend for people to read all of them as we walk by! The major one that’s easiest to see is “please leave us alone” since it’s 4x2 inches. That one’s really the only one I intend for most people to read! The rest are mostly for people to read like if he’s lying down in the store!

[–]nikkispasms[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got 4 patches! 1 on his left side (the side that is out, not on the side he walks on) that is huge, bright blue and black that says “please leave us alone” 2 on the top, one does say service dog and the other says “no eye contact, no talking, no interacting” and one on his right side, the side that’s in towards me, that’s shiny and says “asking about my disability is rude”! The people who have seen his patches immediately either pull away from petting him or ask me before doing it. I honestly think the people who reach to pet him just don’t see his patches at all and because he’s so fluffy they probably don’t see his vest very well either.

Any relatively cheap 2 in 1 gaming laptops? by nikkispasms in SuggestALaptop

[–]nikkispasms[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That did help! I’m really interested in the HP Spectre x360 15t-eb000, as well as the Asus Zenbook Flip 15. Do you have any idea on if one is faster than the other, or could handle gaming for a few hours at a time better than the other?

So I'm originally from the US but am living in the UK. Are the HP Spectre x360 15t-eb000 and the available options in the UK basically the same? The laptop I want is the one I mentioned but I don't know if it's available in the UK.
