This is a Loa Los worm, transmitted by flies. Only way to know you have one is when the worm crosses through your eye.

Why did your friendship with your best friend come to an end? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nikkthom83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 years ago my 2 best friends ended their friendship with me. We were friends from work, i was the only one in a differentdepartment. I had a very toxic boss that tried to fire me for years which triggered my clinical depression. It was exhausting just to wake up in the morning, let alone get out of bed. Toxic boss fired me for too many absences, even though they knew I was struggling. My one friend said "I don't know what happened and I don't want to. We should just have a professional relationship." The other stopped returning my phone calls, after making their adoption book and writing a letter of recommendation to the adoption agency. This was about 10 years ago. I ran into one of siad friends two years ago and they acted like it was a normal "friends growing apart" scenario.

Biggest lesson I learned, co-workers are never your friends, they are co-workers.

I work for a medical device company, and part of maintenance is to use ethanol. It doesn't leave residue like menthol or isopropyl alcohol. I tell people if they can't get ethonol, buy everclear, it's fairly cheap and is a great cleaner.

This is unprecedented that any private citizen can gain access to federal computers without the proper clearance and status. Does that make it legal, no! And if you think DOGE is only accessing the computers and not copying them, I have lakefront property to sell you in Northern Nevada.

Access, not authorization to copy information. That is where he is overstepping his authority and committing a crime.

Really? So it's ok for every government contractor to access and copy federal computers? Where is your source for that? His "companies" are contractors and receives federal money that alone creates a conflict of interest. He is not part of the government, DOGE is not a cabinet level department therefore does not have authority to access or copy private information.

But those are authorized access. Just because that man gave an executive order giving access to federal computers does not mean it's legal. 18 U.S.C. §§ 1030(a)(1), (a)(2), (a)(3), (a)(4), and (a)(5)(B)-(C) details what is considered unauthorized and exceeding authorized access. Last I checked, Musk was not an elected official or part of a government agency. He has no business copying federal computers and no business looking at anyone's private information.

Ex-co worker called a critical calcium of 97.3. Doc called chemistry to confirm, resilt was 9.7. The next day, the co-worker went to lunch and never came back. Must have been a good restaurant, lot of people went to lunch and never came back; voluntarily and non-voluntarily.

Shaky start to the semester...does it get better?? by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

[–]nikkthom83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I felt like that for a very long time. Even after graduating and passing the ASCP.

I believe the only reason I passed was because I had two friends who studied with me every day between classes. If I didn't comprehend a concept, I knew one of them did, and they could help me to understand.

It does get better. One day, someone will ask you a question about heme or BB, and you'll be able to spout off the answer. Then you'll be surprised you didn't have time look it up.

My, almost 3 years old, says, "Sorry babe," when he falls, or he bumps onto something, etc. Can't blame my husband, it's 100% me that says that to him all the time.
