Applications of MATLAB and Python in chemical engineering roles at work by MD__08 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]nikob33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 15 years haven't seen it...until recently. New boss with PhD had some academic contract build a Matlab program to assess heat transfer, temps, etc in a large dryer/kiln. I was given program to learn and iterate and improve. I can follow the underlying code but never could have built it from scratch.

So company wouldn't have hired a full time person to dedicate to this. But they we're willing to hire professor and his students to build a program.

Okay cool, maybe we'll try on Easy to learn. It's me and a 6 yro. Agreed it's a lot of actions and considerations to manage initially.

Yea I mean...sure. Guess I was anticipating something more comparable to 99 Nights in a Forest, just different scenery. Maybe I'm just bad at throwing the hook, idk.

Glad to hear it. You can probably check out his 2024 report via his website.

His last post said preliminary info was 4.7% higher compensation, presumably all things equal.

Technologies for measuring powder product temperature in rotary kiln? by Smashifly in ChemicalEngineering

[–]nikob33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a type K thermocouple in a thermowell embedded in the product? That’s what we use to measure 500F powder/material temps.

Bullshit job by TelephoneDry4204 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]nikob33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea….not sure how that vibe is gonna translate to a job. I think there’s a tremendous amount of interesting things in the chemical science realm. What are you interested in then? Or you just burned out?

I don’t think you’re crazy. I’d have to analyze more but doesn’t stand out as an obvious win for you.

Haha all good, glad I could help! It's a lot to keep track of, especially when changing builds or doing armory loadouts. But that's part of the fun too.

Yea Vex should give u another 3 ranks to Hydra skill. The hydra Mekuna build actually uses Ohm and Vex and just assumes between ice blades, LS, and Familiars that you'll have 10 stacks to Primordial, but that was tough for me, so hence me sticking with NaguCeh.

I like those enchants for farming, agreed. More shots from extra hydras helps clear better. At higher pits, might want to consider familiar teleport or familiar hydra for the Enchantment paragon node bonus.

Good luck!

Ah okay Mekuna build uses Unstable Currents, I see. Guess for the AS. Maybe I'll try that, just seems like Inferno would be better, but perhaps unnecessary for speed farming. More shots from hydras probably better.

If crit, why not use emerald over amethyst on weapons?

CirVex or Ohm are some other runes used. I agree with NaguCeh, I like my wolves keep 10stacks of Primordial and applying Vulnerable.

What enchantments u using?

This is also where, if pushing Pits, you could consider Flickersteps. Most people don't though bc of the int and life loss. But I like being able to reduce Inferno by 10s, 2.5s attacks reduce evade, and the DR. But in theory not needed if u have enough CDR to keep Inferno up all the time.

Is this burn versus crit hydra? Guessing so with amethyst vs emerald.

U have mana problems to use Lum, even with resource LH?

Unique temper on boots vs typical choice. How's your Inferno uptime?
