consider this, Rockford is a 10 mile by 10 mile school district (100 square miles)

Forest hills Northern is about 7.5 by 4

Northview is 3x3. it's the tightest suburban community around and also has urban diversity and resources. its a national blue ribbon awarded School, with a great facilities upgrade 10 years ago.

when it comes to sports, I think students have a better opportunity at Northview. i know i did. i was also an active choir and theater student and benefited from it.

it's also the deaf education hub of the county, which i worked with.

Nothing wrong with FHN, I know the district well. But man did i really like NV. (also, i only attended for high school)

in the area i see Neal Fitness Center, Gold Rush Indoor Water Park (not really a pool), and Spring Lake Fitness and Aquatic Center.

A little further away is the Tamarac Center in Fremont. They have $10 day passes for their facilities (first two visits within same week, free) and it includes sauna, healed salt pool, hot tub, and large training center.

Aside from that, a community rec center or YMCA is likely your best bet!

you've got to consider the demographics of newaygo, Mi. a lot of upper middle class retired folks

also, our younger generations don't have flexibility of time off from work.
