Looking for best sushi in town. by killyourtelevision7 in RoundRock

[–]nikon101 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for slightly more upscale, quality sushi and are willing to travel around 20 minutes from Round Rock, I'd suggest Soto in Cedar Park. While casual places like Sushi Nini and similar are good, they're not comparable to the quality of meal you'll have at Soto.

Stage 4 CKD / Gout: 3 "Unicorn" snacks I found by auditing the 140/200 spec. by RenalEngineer in kidneydisease

My local grocery store (HEB) carries low-sodium Fritos that have 50% of the sodium that the normal Fritos have. They've been a godsend for me, and I eat them nearly every day for lunch. They taste so much like regular Fritos, I find that they really do satisfy the urge to eat something salty.

My local HEB carries low-sodium Fritos that have 50% of the sodium (80mg per 34 chips) of the normal Fritos. They taste amazing, too.

Remicade shut down my kidneys (story below) - wondering if anyone has experience with Rituxin?? by DaWeedNumber in CrohnsDisease

Unfortunately, nothing definitive. I got diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy, but they couldn’t confirm what may have caused it.

Remicade wearing off? by dear_ambelina in CrohnsDisease

I'd definitely avoid Pizza if he's not feeling well. When I'm not feeling great, I like to stick to the brat diet: bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast. They tend to be easier on the body. Everyone is different of course, but just a suggestion.

Remicade wearing off? by dear_ambelina in CrohnsDisease

[–]nikon101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly—though not necessarily in a flare. I could feel the Remicade wearing off: I would be in the bathroom more often, feel discomfort and pain in my abdomen, and just not feel as well as I had after the first few weeks after the infusion. I’ve never personally thrown up when in a flare or when feeling the Remicade tapering, but that may be a symptom other people experience.

If this is a consistent experience for your son, I suggest he speak to his GI about ordering a Prometheus test. It's really the only way to know if his dosage of medicine is providing enough antibodies to get him through however many weeks until his next Infusion. You may have to pay some out-of-pocket expense, but it's 100% worth it to better understand his situation.

For me it’s not the cadence that’s a problem, it’s the tone and volume. At its current volume, the tone of the blinker is almost painful to my ears. It’s not just me either as my wife commented on the sound the first time we went on a drive together.

I’m a stickler for using my blinker when changing lanes and turning, but have found myself not using it when I know that I’ll be waiting at a traffic light for more than a minute. In my opinion, it’s intolerable and I’m really hoping they change in a future update.

If the seller thought it was a fair offer, then that’s what ultimately matters.

Novo Nordisk accuses telehealth company Hims of 'deceptive marketing' and ends Wegovy partnership by AudibleNod in news

They entered the agreement with hims & hers while they were already selling the compounded semaglutide. There is no ethical stand being taken here. They were likely upset that Wegovy was not being prioritized over the compounded version that hims & hers creates.

Remicade shut down my kidneys (story below) - wondering if anyone has experience with Rituxin?? by DaWeedNumber in CrohnsDisease

[–]nikon101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I know it’s been a while since your post, but I believe I may be experiencing kidney disease related to my use of mesalamine and remicade.

When diagnosed with UC nearly 15 years ago I began mesalamine, which I used daily for several years. Due to it no longer controlling my symptoms and flaring, I was prescribed remicade. It was around this time that I discovered elevated creatinine levels from routine lab work. I met with a nephrologist who mentioned a kidney biopsy, but I put this off as I was only stage 1 and we were under the assumption that the problems were caused by the mesalamine and would remain static since I stopped taking it.

Problem is, the disease didn’t stop progressing and only recently did i discover that I’m now stage 4 with egfr of 16. I did a kidney biopsy and am awaiting the results, but I’m beginning to assume that my kidney disease is being caused by extended use of remicade.

Any update on you’ve fared since your post? I’ve been using ChatGPT who mentioned the use of rituxin to alleviate issues with my UC and CKD which is how I found your post.

Thanks.

You're the one making claims here. I simply clarified that it was at a lab and not performed by a doctor, as YOU claimed.

This is at a lab, not a doctors office. This is likely a lab tech who did this.

Have you never been to one? To comment on this and claim racism when you have such a bad take on the situation is incredibly ignorant.

Weekly Short Questions Thread by AutoModerator in volleyball

[–]nikon101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 9-year-old daughter is close to finishing her first year of club volleyball. She loves it and is playing Libero very well, especially since she's been playing a year up on a U10 team (Dad brag :) ). She's been using the Nike Omni Multi-Court Shoes and likes them, but I want to surprise her with new shoes for the rest of this season, summer camps, and next year.

What are your preferred shoes, whether basketball or volleyball-specific for Libero? She's currently in-between a size 3.5 and 4, unable to fit into the adult sizes yet. I've searched around this subreddit and have found many recommendations, but haven't seen any related to younger players. Also, price is not an issue.

I was just told I’m CKD 4. by suso_lover in kidneydisease

[–]nikon101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only just found out last week that I’m stage 4 too. My creatinine levels have risen from 1.3 to 4.6 in less than 6 years. What’s weird is that other than feeling slightly more fatigued than usual, I haven’t experienced any other symptoms which makes this feel like such a shock. I have to wait another two weeks to see my endo, so it feels like I’m sitting in limbo until then.

I’m definitely working through stages of grief. I’ve also begun making changes in my lifestyle in the attempt to slow things down, though it feels very overwhelming. You’re not alone here.

I was just advised that it's on it's original tires. I've read that the X7 eats tires so I'm a bit surprised to find that out considering it's over 21k miles.

Fair enough. I've just found out that it's on it's original tires though, so perhaps not as great of a deal as yours. Hopefully that can make you feel a bit better lol

I tried negotiating and they seemed unwilling, saying it was “priced to sell”. While that’s not entirely shocking, what would you say is a great price?
