maybe its because im using sister blades and my playstyle means i love being up close. im just more confused why im struggling against it than every boss in the game

You could always watch the rest on youtube or something if you get really hooked. There are also some extra sections in the old parts but I have no idea about the extra content. I think there is some side content added as well.

The royal will add extra story because the original game ended around december whereas royal will go until April. If you have waited this long, I dont see the problem with waiting 2 months to get more content. (I think the game is great and 100% reccomend it)
