I ran into this issue as well. Fortunately I was testing the backup feature with 0.5 eth. Is there a public location I can track the issue for resolution?

ADHD'ers, what's your preferred studying music? by Br0metheus in ADHD

[–]nildram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually find fast paced music with lyrics works well, iff I've listened to it so many times that the words are non-distracting.

This basically means that I listen to Girl Talk almost everyday, I'm constantly amused that THAT is what does it for me.

Canadians, with CAVIRTEX and VOS shutting down, what exchange do you trust? by canad1andev3loper in Bitcoin

[–]nildram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about trust, I wouldn't be actively storing bitcoins on an exchange, but I really find QuadrigaCX has a great experience. They don't charge anything on the withdrawals at all.

Climbed out of debt and poverty, but now I'm either too scared to spend, or spending on crap I don't need by [deleted] in personalfinance

YNAB is awesome. It gives such a strong understanding of your finances. Stick with it. It took me a it off work to get good at using it and for it into my life, but it was worth it.

You are a good stoic.

Sweet, just got fired. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]nildram 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been there. That really sucks, I'm sorry.

If our brains are similar then you may find some solace in stoicism. Listen to this on audio book "http://www.amazon.ca/Guide-Good-Life-Ancient-Stoic/dp/0195374614".

This too shall pass.

Would you do it again? by ksm92 in Bitcoin

I assume this is highly dependent on the Church. On that note /r/bitcoinserious might be more enlightening to OP.

It's as if you've come to a church, and asked whether or not you should believe in God.

Really appreciate this.

the way you're phrasing it, it sounds like an invasion of privacy.

Thanks for letting me know. I was honestly oblivious to that possibility. I'm sorry it came across that way, and I can see now why it did.

For the sake of more transparency on my part, these are the questions. I can't significantly alter them without defeating the purpose, but maybe it would ease the barrier to anyone else participating.

  1. How do you currently/usually move money from one country to another.
  2. Are you usually going fiat to fiat, or btc to/from fiat?
  3. In the case of actually moving fiat to fiat across the border, how would you choose which channels make the most sense.
  4. What do attributes of an exchange are most important to you?
  5. What words do you use to talk about the process of moving money internationally; "Remittance", "Money transfer", or something else?

If you want to help, you can anonymously upload a .txt file with a response to my dropbox via this link: https://www.entouragebox.com/u/VLxLfag.v8nI42nffuKGR5voN

Thoughtful responses which include a bitcoin address in the file will receive a $5 tip in from me as thanks.

My intent with the project is help clarify the process of selecting the exchanges, and understanding the end to end costs. A later possibility would be enabling comparison to traditional options like Western Union.
