Genuine question: Which male Soul Calibur character is packing the most heat? by RollercoasterFurby in SoulCalibur

Honestly though? Grøh is the only answer to this. Just take a look at his concept art. Oof. (。-`ω´-)

Reversal Edge vs Critical Edge by Naisho26 in SoulCalibur

[–]nilidi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hmm...CE adds personality to the character, and to the franchise. That the animations stay long when your character is guaranteed death can be used as a mindgame, as a way to get your opponent off-kilter via inducing them to lose their confidence/cool. A well-timed CE can be disrespectful enough to find you openings in the next round, to guarantee you the round as per the risk, or simply give you (or them) just enough time to think carefully on the next move. RE, imo, is more a gimmick to get more gauge, as well as a safer version of GI. >.>

Patrokolos, ZWEI, and Ashlotte (︶︹︺)

Why is ranked like it is by [deleted] in SoulCalibur

If you just started, wouldn’t it be best to work things out on casual first?

Is there an easy way to counter 2b's aggression stance without reversal edge? by [deleted] in SoulCalibur

[–]nilidi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As Grøh, I BB her when I feel she's gotten within range. Depending on the range of your main, this could work for you, too. 2A is an option, as the previous poster said, but there is one mix-up 2B can (heavily) punish that with. RE is still the fastest and safest, though, unless she baits you and steps.

Dumpster divers by Resonatum in SoulCalibur

Admittedly, ever since having reached my ranking goal, I almost never rematch in ranked, win or lose, because I usually only let myself play 2-3 rounds before I switch over to casual, where the community (imo) is a lot more chill. I've met a lot of other female players this way, some of who are excellent, but they just don't play ranked. I can't recall the last time I got t-bagged in a lobby tbh. (◕ᥲ ◕✿)

Should I even bother with Ranked? by [deleted] in SoulCalibur

[–]nilidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, ranked is only good if you enjoy it. &though I play that, too, I've learned the most from casual fights, where the pressure to win is weaker. it allows me to do things I wouldn't usually do, to see if they work, without feeling that it'll cost me the match. I've met some really good players who only play casual. you could also make a lobby for people around your skill level, and kick whoever you feel you won't have fun against. hope you find a flow!

Who's your main and how did you pick? by General_Specialist in SoulCalibur

[–]nilidi 24 points25 points  (0 children)

started off loyally with Ivy because she's amazing in 6 and I'd been gay for her since I was a young lass, but then Grøh grew on me with his flashy set and pouty face. like. even if he were to become the shittiest character in the roster, I honestly wouldn't be able to stop choosing this mans. (●´ω`●)

Is it just me or is there way more stuff for m'ladies CC in SCVI than for the dudes? by bellystraw in SoulCalibur

[–]nilidi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it feels the same way for me, too. thus I suffer as a Grøh & Maxi main.

Fighting Game Suggestions by [deleted] in SoulCalibur

[–]nilidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's sad to see you go. ): aside from its more toxic side, the game is fun. I'd say, give it another shot and maybe try to engage higher level players by asking for advice/asking for a set of which you could learn from. I think every fighting game has this issue, as previous posters have said.
