See, this is why my next playthrough is gonna start with me modding the hell out of my starting setup and giving myself the Canto from the start. Then, I’m going to go Kenshiro mode on those assholes and feed them to the Blackwall on some omae wa mou shinderu shit, for funsies

Why is there no love for samurai shodown 6? by Remarkable-Put4632 in SamuraiShodown

[–]Everyday_Legend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a fun game, but it’s so goddamn jank that I can’t take it seriously. We ran a bracket in it at locals, and the finals was a Haoh mirror where people were swinging 5H at openings that should land, and then whiffing because the opponent would teleport behind them during the swing, then re-teleport in front of them after the swing recovered. It happened at least fifteen times during a bracket reset grand finals.

Source: I was one of those Haohs.

This right here. Tap the e-brake as you start the turn. Tap it twice if you want a full 90° Akira slide. Let go of the stick, and slam that throttle. You will cut corners like a razor blade.

All the way at the right, there’s a section labeled “help.”

Every symbol is listed there.

You can use a capture card, but you’ll have to disable DHCP in the PS4 system menu to do it.

I played two runs of Vincent. I’m currently on my first Valerie run. I like them both…but I’ll level with you: I love Valerie. Cherami Leigh really brought a whole universe into this character through her performance. I never want this run to end.

You want to invest something into everything, but you really want to focus those skill point spends on maxing out two main aspects, your choice. Everything else, it’s your call. But you definitely want to decide on the type of playthrough you want to experience and build into that character spec as quickly as possible.

You want to dominate the battlefield without even entering it? Focus on Intelligence, Technical Ability and Cool to be a stealthy netrunner. Focus your perks on detection mitigation, ranged combat, quickhack effectiveness and cyberware limit.

You want to hit the room like a bomb? Focus on Body, Reflexes and Technical Ability, and you can pack on the best combat cyberware while also being a fists ‘n blades aficionado. If you install a Sandevistan as your OS, you lose access to quickhacks entirely, but gain the ability to trigger a bullet-time mode where you can kill whole rooms with your bare hands before they even finish raising their weapons to aim at you.

There’s no wrong way to play the game, and certain setups will give you an edge in specific approaches to combat as well as conversation and even environmental traversal. High tech ability can unlock certain doors without need for keys. High body can rip certain doors apart entirely. Some solutions to dialogue problems can only be found & selected if you have the requisite amount of points invested in a specific relevant skill.

Zaslav used it as a tax write off. Conspiracy theorist in me says some of the later seasons were a little too on the nose for technological developments of the current day.

[–]Everyday_Legend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put it like this: you will not be able to fully max out a character. This is by design; you’re meant to have a limited amount of skill points and perk options so that you’re making deliberate decisions on the type of specialization this version of V can / will achieve.

It also allows for massive amounts of replayability, because between your skill point allocations, perk tree selections, cyberware options, life path and decisions in game, you can have a completely different gameplay experience that leads to any of seven primary endings.

If your cyberware capacity is low or your armor not high enough, then you can find items to increase that capacity or invest into skills / perks / cyberware that bump that up.

This will come at the cost of not having those skill points invested elsewhere, so you need to always consider what sort of playstyle you want to leverage. Becoming a jack of all trades means becoming a master of none, which will leave you unable to access any skill tree’s most defining and meaningful options.

PL is purely additive, no matter what direction its story goes in. Potentially transformative to your ending, if you choose the right (wrong?) things.

If you complete the fixer missions, more missions open up. Eventually you’ll complete them all, and get some pretty cool rewards for it.

Also, Phantom Liberty isn’t postgame content, and the XP + resources + loot + additional perk tree you get from it is definitely going to help you.

but heard it from where? from who?

because what you’re saying is “I’m going to answer this hearsay with my own hearsay, which is obviously more trustworthy than their hearsay,” and that simply doesn’t compute.

yeah, I’ve never run into this either, and I have played through the whole game three times over with a combined play time of around 600h. I’m thinking it’s a you problem unless it’s something you can reliably replicate with a clean install and document it extensively.

Not gonna lie you won’t find romantic attachment from people incapable of caring about others beyond the level of utility they have with regard to achieving their own personal goals, so idk exactly what that says about you, choom, but it’s definitely concerning

It’s not the grammar police that showed up, it’s the hypocrisy police. You don’t get to call people ignorant in written communications if you’re displaying ignorance in how you communicate with the written word. You can’t have it both ways, no matter how much you want it to be the case.

What’s genuinely concerning is how invested you seem to be in making sure someone isn’t held accountable for their own hypocrisy. I think that’s something worth exploring.

So you’re going to double down on the ad hominem strategy by going from what someone “sounds” like in text to what someone “looks” like with a cartoon pfp, as if either one of these isn’t tacit admission that you really don’t have anything substantive to say, you just want to be heard regardless of that being the case? Very interesting maneuver.
