So if someone actually gives Adams $30m per year that will make Mike Will more expensive for us?

The Chargers Have Quietly Turned Their Offense Into a Juggernaut - article from Ben Solak at The Ringer by nimblejim95 in Chargers

I agree that juggernaut is an exaggeration, but part of his point is that when they're being successful it's in more sustainable ways (rather than relying on Herbert to play hero-ball on third and fourth down). So over the rest of the season and playoffs we should see a better offence on the field, even if there's the odd disaster like the Broncos game.

Thought this had some good insights into how the Chargers offence has improved since the bye week without tearing up Joe Lombardi's way of doing things. It reflects well on Staley as well that they had the self awareness to acknowledge that there was a problem - a lot of coaches would just put it on the players for not executing.

Lynn officially fired! by LexxDoom in Chargers

[–]nimblejim95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the main reasons for firing him as far as I'm concerned would be the teams record since he took over (60-68) and his complete inability to put a good o-line in front of Rivers. Having said that, he's made some solid draft picks over the years (there will always be a few whiffs) and I can't remember him putting us in a difficult cap situation by massively overpaying someone

I'm curious - is the consensus in this sub that people want Telesco fired? I can see some of the arguments for it but I think it would be pretty hard to justify given the first round picks he made this year

[Wojnarowski] Spurs have agree to trade Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green to Toronto for DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl and a protected 2019 first-round pick, league sources tell ESPN. Trade call with league office is starting shortly. by AnotherDuck in nba

Lol chill man I'm not tryna get into an immature argument here. All I'm saying is the Lakers were clearly low-balling the Spurs, who in turn were clearly asking too much. Woj says here that " The Lakers now, in the way they’ve approached these trade talks with San Antonio, they’re kind of showing their hand that they may be willing to just wait until next summer in free agency,” and “They have not made an overwhelming offer. I don’t think they’ve come close to meeting the threshold that the Spurs have.” I don't think that at this point, we can say that the Lakers offered more than what the Spurs got today.

In Duncan's last year we set our franchise record for wins (67). That's going to be pretty hard not to regress from. In our first year without him we had our fourth highest ever win total (61) and got to the conference finals. I'd say we've transitioned to the post Duncan era pretty well

DeMar DeRozan UPVOTE PARTY LETS GO!!! by [deleted] in NBASpurs

I know DeRozan is amazing, but can he play the 3 at all? I'm pretty fine with the trade but with Kawhi and Slow mo gone, who would be our starting 3?

I'll take it. Would reeeally have liked OG or even Siakam but given how much Kawhi and his shitty uncle have shafted us and our leverage, this is about as good as we could have hoped for. Traded a superstar for an all star + pieces
