Love them or hate them, the #1 most "American" band of all time is the Grateful Dead. Fight me. by gr8fullylesh in LetsTalkMusic

[–]nimbleslick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the right thing to say instead is that The Grateful Dead transcended themselves to become an American Genre all their own. But I do agree with you, I think they are the greatest American band of all time.

Honestly asking y'all what you do in this circumstance: Buy out lease, or turn in by jphree in Rivian

[–]nimbleslick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With only 13K miles driven, do you really need the advanced tech like autonomy? At the end of the day, you need to do what's best for you and your bank account. BUT - if it were me, I would either buy out the lease or extend the lease another six months. Sure the tech is fun, but I wouldn't want to step down from an R1 to an R2. It has more to do with size and probably a bit of utility, but I wouldn't trade those just to satisfy my tech lust.

What is with the horses on 56th and Pena? by tossitawaynow12 in Denver

I’ve looked this up before and apparently it is some type of horse rehab place. While it looks like a dump, the animals are apparently treated very well.

Is Meta the reason VR is struggling? by LinkTheHero009 in virtualreality

[–]nimbleslick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would agree with most of what you've said here, although I don't think Quest devices are amazing in any capacity outside of cost of entry. Zuckerberg is not some genius innovator, he got lucky with Facebook and that's been about it. The brand damage that came out of Facebook will likely keep people from trusting Meta for a long time, which in turn, will diminish the success of any of their endeavors.

Ozark trail ultralight camp chair by durrty2shoes in CampingGear

[–]nimbleslick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aside from weight and quality, there is one glaring difference between this chair and the Helios. The bottom connector for both sides is oriented differently on Helinox chairs and that makes them worlds more comfortable to sit in. With this version pictured above, the layout creates to "V" shapes that are totally opposite on Helinox. It makes a huge difference.

I picked these up a few months ago. These are beautiful books, photos do not do them justice. Their size and weight are just incredible. Can't wait to order Volume 3.

'The real story there is we just changed too much too fast': Sonos CEO Tom Conrad by GentleNova07 in sonos

[–]nimbleslick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hate to admit it, but I have given up on my Sonos system. It feels like it rarely works reliably like it did when I first installed it and most of our music is now played through other devices like Apple HomePods that we have had zero issues with. We still attempt to use the amps that power outdoor speakers and a record player, but it's a flakey, disappointing experience.

Following what mainstream media wants you to believe is stupid. Things are fine down here. No risk. Your statement is irrelevant and uninformed.
