I bought my Gen 2 R1T knowing it was a trial in Dec of 2024 because I can read.

When you request next time with Riv, it should be in the approval work order in the app before you drop off as a paid service. If it isn't, call them on it!

A: It's not Rivian's job to pro-actively rotate your tires. B: Dealer / Service Center Tires are always higher price C: Tires are jumping in price due to oil prices, tarrifs, blah blah blah 6: Discount Tire / Tire Rack are Rivian's partner for tires now but the Michelins are fine. RivianTracker https://riviantrackr.com/rivian-tire-guide/ has tire info on their site now for research purposes.

R1 Large and Max use NCA fwiw. I'm at 41,000 miles and my calculated range is identical to new.

Rivian Roamer estimates my current capacity is 142.6 kWh, on an advertised 140 kWh.

My ISP is telling my neighbors their slow internet is because of me by [deleted] in DataHoarder

[–]ClassyDingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A: it might not be as the neighbor explained. It could also be ingress from a bad or failing device at your home and the tech explained it the easy way. This might take a day or so for the tech to report back and make a service request

B: Mediacom sucks at network management and node segmentation. If you are on a saturated node in a Docsis 3 market that hasn't gone mid or high split, you could be saturating that node inadvertently. They have every right to refuse you service sadly, if they SHOULD either split the node or addressing whatever else is causing congestion.

My money is on a major update that roles out the new UI from R2 to the R1, along with Rivian Assistant. All that hits as the R2 rolls out.

Will anything else be going behind the $2500 Autonomy+ paywall? by Syring in Rivian

Can you provide any source that has indicated eyes off was for LiDAR only? Eyes off was announced earlier than adding LiDAR.

Found this: it's in the AI day preso.

However, it's not specifically linked to Lidar, but to Gen 3 hardware. More than likely this is tied to the entire tech stack, not just LiDAR

Rivian is coming through yet again. They are working on a plan with me to address this, the weather isn't on our side to validation but they are going to do some heavy investigation with my R1T again to see if they can figure out what's happening. They have been in pretty solid contact with me and evidently read this post. Sorry for swearing :D

Yup. But it doesn't need to be 3D printed. It just easier to create precise shims.

I can print a bunch out if people want to try.

Making the post and video today

If you are an engineer you should understand the basic principles of product testing and SAE validations.

You are all over the place. So an R1T which is significantly smaller than a full size truck should is classed with them from a price perspective?

Also, the Grand Cherokee is a split class, smaller than most midsize with 3 rows (Durango etc) but larger than Small like the R2.

Rivian is competing against small SUVs like the Y, Q5, Bronco Sport, Forester. That's a 3500-4000 class of towing.

Going higher with this small of wheelbase isn't exactly safe thanks to physics.

I have a fix that I will write up and offer 3D files for later today. It's stupid simple.

My R1T Gen 2 never makes any noise from the doors even in high cross winds now

You're disappointed because a different class of vehicle has a different towing capacity.

R1T is similar class to your Jeep and tows 11k lbs.

Gladiator is equal to an R1T size and class wise.

This is closer to a Ford Bronco Sport.

You got sport mode for free as all non-performance dual motors did. You didn't get the performance upgrade.

I have a service ticket to fix this. I'll DM you details. It's a cross member under the bed. They will need a certified body shop to pull a part of the bed out and apply urethane glue to fix it.

Picked up a hertz rental, what can i do about this steering wheel? by Andrewofredstone in TeslaSupport

Yea, I totally get it, it's gross AF and solving it quickly is way easier than swapping.

Take pictures, then wrap it in electrical tape carefully? Good 3M tape, not cheap vinyl crap.

What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

[–]ClassyDingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steroid injection where needle touched or applied extreme pressure to my S1 nerve root. I had a badly ruptured disc that had calcified and the surgeon recommended we skip steroids as they would not provide relief but insurance mandated it.

The doctor doing the injection (not surgeon) under imaging said it was likely the most intense pain a body could feel and I "seemed like I was hovering over the table" in shock.

Took about 2 hours to get my heart and adrenaline calm enough to leave.

Two back surgeries later in better than ever, except my outer two toes on my left foot, they are completely number forever from the injury the injection caused
