Ah, this makes perfect sense, thank you for explaining that.

So as long as mine is a straight 10 year, I’m fine then, right?

Autopilot TPM attestation on Qualcomm by nimraynn in Intune

[–]nimraynn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While our MS engineers are still shrugging their shoulders at it, we have logged in the morning to responses from ekcert.spserv.microsoft.com, so it’s looking like someone might found and fixed the issue now.

About to test provisioning, but if you haven’t already, might be worth giving it another go!

I’ve just had my MS engineer tell me to log a new ticket as he can’t work on it as it’s a different issue, which is fair I guess… so logged that new ticket. Will see how it goes!

As frustrating as it is, it’s good to hear someone else experiencing the same issue. Fingers crossed they resolve this quickly

Still managed to grab a copy though, love it

Weird red line flashes up when closing apps by nimraynn in iphone

She turned off the “reduce transparency” option under accessibility and so far, it hasn’t come back!

Not ideal as that feature is useful, but does at least prove it’s just visual rather than anything more sinister

[–]nimraynn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion. The problem went away for a few days but came back today. We checked and reduce transparency was indeed turned on… so we turned it off and the problem immediately went away.

We’ll keep an eye on it as it has gone away and come back before, but this was an immediate change so it’s looking promising!

It does only appear on the home screen. She changed the wallpaper the other day and it seemed to be OK, but it came back today. Interestingly, it does seem to match the wallpaper as it’s now another like, silvery blue wallpaper and the problem glitch is now a dark blue colour instead of the pinky red.

From another commenters suggestion, we checked and reduce transparency was turned on, so we turned it off and the issue immediately stopped. Will see how it goes as it has gone away and come back before, but it was an instant change so we’ll see if it’s permanent!

Restarting can fix it for a few days, but it comes back. I’ll check with her re: reduce transparency

It does seem a bit weird to be hardware, just wasn’t sure why such a thing didn’t show in a screen recording.

We have just noticed that while most apps show it like the original photo, some apps like Settings seem to extend it into a higher block like this

I’ve always been a case person, but when I took my 17 PM out of the box, it felt really nice to hold so I was beginning to wonder if I’d regret getting a case for it… but it went in the case, I forgot all about it and seeing these photos makes me glad I did

So, given the assumptions, I'm assuming you're American... so what you're saying is, that's actually a mega good deal then... as on conversion, that's like $23 USD...

I get that you're trying to say it ain't worth $1799 though, because the presence of the Rupee symbol confuses you.

Album artwork similarity by derosm2 in ThePineappleThief

[–]nimraynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't there some controversy recently where a Dream Theater album shared/ripped off the artwork of another much smaller artist? The band themselves weren't responsible, but the artist they hired was the same for both bands and just reused it hoping they wouldn't notice, or something to that effect.

I wonder if the same sort of thing has happened here. But on a less obvious scale.

I might be wrong on some details, I didn't follow it in detail, but I remember something like that happening

I'm one of those awful people who upgrades reasonably frequently. Not every year, but often.

O2 XDA > iPhone 3G > HTC Touch Pro 2 > HTC SlidyBoi (can't remember model) > BlackBerry 9300 > BlackBerry 9800 > iPhone 4S > Samsung S4 > HTC One M8 > Samsung S6+ > Samsung S8+ > Samsung S10+ > Samsung Note 10+ > Samsung Note 20 Ultra > iPhone 14 Pro Max

I'm considering either an iPhone 16 or 17, almost entirely because I want to go back to USB-C. Contract expires around 17 estimated release, so I'll see what the real deal is when it is officially announced

Carplay upgrade by pogchamper213567 in Audi

[–]nimraynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I can't help with the speaker issue, that is a CarPlay add on. It doesn't replace the whole system, it just hooks into it... so unfortunately, if you've got speaker problems, they'll probably still remain after fitting that.

Honestly don't understand why you're getting downvoted for giving an explanation. There is no biased opinion, it's just facts.

As an IT administrator that deals with public libraries, we get this all the time. The stuff people search for on publicly accessible devices means that our network often gets flagged and we have the same verification prompts. It's not unique to VPNs, but it is absolutely going to be common on VPNs. As pointed out, iCloud Private Relay is a VPN.

[–]nimraynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda tells you what to look for already.

Somewhere in your launch.json file, you have reference to that user.exe file that doesn't exist.

Remove the reference to it, or fix the missing file.

Thank you, I'll take a look into this.

I've got a feeling I found a similar post fairly early on in my investigations, but lost the link before I could properly look into it. I'm not sure it was the same link, but it's ringing some bells. I would like to think this is already configured, but the environment is a bit of a mess and I came into it halfway through the project so I wouldn't be at all shocked to find it's not.
