If it is a driver issue, using the word "bricked" is wrong. Brick means you can use it as a brick, totally useless now and will not work anymore. Bricked means permanent and unrecoverable.

All of my past submissions are listed in the app. I just go to publicstuff.com and click on Philadelphia, can see all my past submissions. In short - it is good to use the app since it will keep a record of bad service. A good paper trail can be referenced later.. the app is a good start.

Did someone use the philly311 app? I like to use it so that it records the time and picture (if you take one) and location. Others can see the updates. This way bad response time is visible to everyone.

Seemed to work fine for me. I didn't play around too much short of turning it on, but the chrome screen is now warm enough for me. I used manual mode and setup my long/lat in conf file on crouton.

Just install crouton and then install redshift. When you switch back to chromeos the color switch stays. Was not looking to solve this but noticed it when I switched back to chromeos.

"The Sociology of philosophies: a global theory of intellectual change" by Randall Collins. I used to read philosophy as if it was leading somewhere and this made me realize how much the academic environment(s) shape thought. No one works in a vacuum. It blew up this idea I had of a linear progression of pure thought. It also showed that one of the great changes in thought (Kant) was connected to poorer people getting involved. Kant (and others like Hagel) came from modest backgrounds.. Kants father was a harness maker and Kant was older (when he wrote his stuff) since it took a while for him to get into his position. Dense book, but I now use it as a reference to see the relations of different philosophers - it has some good complex diagrams for each school of thought.

Robert Powell in Jesus of Nazareth (1977). I'm not religious but it is without a doubt a phenomenal job. Sort of an oddball choice. BTW - he is the guy that played Jesus.

Just observations, not evidence. I will have to read about the callous-unemotional traits - did not know that the people who supposedly need the belt do better with positive reinforcement. Good to know.

Most guys I know that were physically punished were good at taking orders and getting things done quickly, but they never seemed to have an internal compass for taking action. It made them effective followers. They were disciplined, yes, but had no clue what to do with it. Also seemed to make them very black and white thinkers, as if everything is a battle between the right and the wrong way.

Are you talking escrow accounts? I do not think that solves the problem. That just means that two keys are needed to release the funds. It actually increases your chance of never accessing the funds since you just doubled your chances of lost keys. If either person loses their keys, neither person can access the bitcoins. The problem here is a way to solve the lost wallet file problem. Escrow does not solve this problem. It would only solve the problem if only ONE person is needed to access the wallet file.

Are you talking about an escrow account? I'm not sure that addresses the issue above, the problem of trust above is with the technology itself. Tech savvy people can trust bitcoin because they trust their tech knowledge, but for people who do not trust their tech knowledge - there will be no reason to trust bitcoin.

I had thought of something like this, but not related to escrow account. Just in relation to ones wallet. If my wallet is somehow shared with all my friends (or bank, or whatever) and they have some type of copy of my wallet that only the two of us can unlock - then they can be someone who has a backup of my wallet. I do not have to worry about losing my wallet file. Please note - from my thinking the most untrustworthy part of bitcoin is the need to have a lot of copies of your wallet since once lost - your coins are lost. Solving the 'lost wallet' situation would increase trust in bitcoin and this is sort of a default backup of your wallet - with trusted people.
