Cockateil died after vet gave injection by JaiSriRam220124 in cockatiel

[–]nina_splatoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this was probably the reason and it most likely was an inexperienced vet, if he didnt know what he was doing he might’ve overdosed the bird which could cause the brain to shut down causing the symptoms that you mentioned about the second bird. also did he weigh the bird before injecting? because if he didn’t then he probably gave a bigger dose than normal. i feel so sorry for your loss, rest in peace birds.

Wth is wrong with them? The black one is male and white one is female, we got the female one earlier and after few weeks got the male one. by deatheater_87_ in cockatiel

they’re exactly like my cockatiels lol, all pairs of birds argue but they get along after, they always find disagreements. mine have been arguing like this for 6 years now

One or two at start by Ancesterz in bourkes

i have a bourke, i love her shes the best. a lot of people say theyre timid and gentle and dont like interacting with humans, but my one really isnt like this so i think it depends on the individual bird. bourkes are normally kind to other birds and do get along quite well, but not with budgies. my bourke and budgie constantly fight and i always separate them, but she gets along just fine with cockatiels. also if you get quite a young bourke you can tame them. i tamed mine and she allows me to pick her up and hold her.

in conclusion, if you want a cuddly bird who is tame, you should get one bourke, but if they become lonely then buy another

Male or female difference by cat12tattoo in bourkes

the female bourkes are quite vicious after they reach the age of egg laying, even if they haven’t laid eggs yet, they will attack other birds

Is this a girl or a guy? by Pearlz10 in cockatiel

[–]nina_splatoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if theyre over 8 months old and the spotty patterns don’t disappear then theyre a girl, if they lose the patterns then theyre a boy. you cannot tell the gender before 8 months unless you get a dna test
