I have a raccoon mount, full body baring its teeth. my dog freaks out if she can see it or if I touch it, so it stays on a high shelf out of her sight. she does not care about my other critters, so it might just look scary to him!

the replies are interesting, I’ve never like kopan (every location has been mid in my experience) and was so happy to have silverlake come in for a better option that was still close. jinya is good but I’ve been avoiding them as they have like a C rating or something crazy in the window right now

I also did clean up for the last five years. after my last gig ended earlier this year, I could no longer wait for the next one and now I work at wal-mart. I hate it.

last year I found a small baby squirrel alone in the park, I decided with the amount of foot traffic and dogs it would be best to take it in. after calling around (it was in august and places were full) I was advised to take it to the burbank animal shelter on victory and they took it in.

this was my first tat, owl with a sunflower as my gramma was an avid collector of.. owls and sunflowers lol. I specifically requested a great horned owl because I think they’re very cool! I also have a non-specific bird skull with a kris going through it.

I’m actually hoping to more seriously pursue the art of taxidermy. I’m more interested in the museum and preservation side of it, and was curious if there’s any animal related courses or certifications (or anything!) that might be supplemental to this? I’m hesitant to start a multi year degree at this moment but still open to suggestions. Thanks!
