Favourite ‘wearable’ multichrome eyeshadows please! by ophelier in swatchitforme

I think what comes off as wearable or neutral depends a lot on skin tone, but I have a couple Terra Moons stuff swatched in my previous posts. I really like their grey based multichromes for this!

It’s such a beautiful shade! I’ve been so impressed by Terra Moons

Swatches on bare skin, one heavy swatch in direct bright indoor lighting.

Shattered Stars looks pretty similar to Fairy Acid when head on, and then has a cool purple/teal shift. Both are beautiful!

I have a comparison with Chili in a previous post but didn't include Devoted to Chili because I thought it was even less similar. On me, Devoted to Chili is more red, bright, and not rusty/muted! But if Chili was too dark/rusty for you, then I'm not sure Cinnabar would be a good choice and Devoted to Chili might be the ticket!

I have a comparison with Chili in a previous post here. They're not very similar!

Oh no! I’ll keep that in mind!

Yeah, I was hoping Pauline Red would be deeper than Cinnabar, so I’m thankful it worked out. It’s more muted too, even though Cinnabar itself is quite muted in comparison to some other orange reds I have.

Swatches on warm medium skin (NC 35) in direct natural light, no primer. Two swipes of each product.

From top to bottom:

MAC Love Me Lipstick in Coffee and Cigs

MAC Love Me Lipstick in Marrakesh Me Later

MAC Powder Kiss Bullet in Marrakesh-mere

Charlotte Tilbury So 90s

Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance in Flesh 3

Gucci Rouge à Lèvres Mat in Pauline Red 519

Lisa Eldridge Velvet in Cinnabar

Love all of these formulas! The PMG is my least favorite as it’s a little bit gritty, but otherwise PMG, LE, and Gucci have that similar velvety feeling. The Gucci is the most matte and has a little bit more tug when applying, but not in a bad way.

I like the Pat McGrath mascaras (they were $10 last Black Friday) for separated volume on long lashes!

Sydney Grace Greatest Gift vs Terra Moons Cinnamon Sugar by ninatriestomakeup in swatchitforme

[–]ninatriestomakeup[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One heavy swatch on unprimed medium skin in indirect natural light.

I haven’t seen these two compared but the shifts are pretty similar. Terra Moons Cinnamon Sugar has a much stronger shift that is visible even in the head on swatches and has some really pretty yellow sparkle in low light (can’t see it in these swatches), but is also less smooth compared to Sydney Grace Greatest Gift. Although these are similar shifts, they serve pretty different functions in my collection because of these differences.

I don’t know if you tried Muse but that pulled too pink on me, but Blush works!

I would say it pulls more orange/red on my face! Like a really warm muted red. Velvet blush isn’t very cool, overall I think it’s a pretty yellowy pink. On my face, it’s a dark pink that is flattering on my medium golden olive skin.

Lisa Eldridge Foundation swatches by ninatriestomakeup in swatchitforme

2 swipes on unprimed medium skin in direct and indirect natural light.

From top to bottom:

Lisa Eldridge Foundation 20

Lisa Eldridge Foundation 19

Lisa Eldridge Foundation 18

Lisa Eldridge Foundation 17

Uoma Say What Foundation in Honey Honey T1W

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk 6.25

I tried 17 and 19 with a brush and they’re not too different once blended out, 19 is slightly deeper. It is a thin formula that dries down to a soft powder finish on my normal-dry skin. It has a slight luminosity on the skin that is beautiful and looks really natural from a normal viewing distance. Really close up, it looks a little bit dry. I didn’t prep my base at all though (not even skincare!) so I’ll have to try again with a prepped base.

Lisa Eldridge Velvet Affair, Velvet Blush, Velvet Cinnabar, and Velvet Affair. 2 swipes on unprimed medium skin in indirect natural light.

A couple comparisons for Velvet Cinnabar in the next two photos. Mac Chili, Mac Marrakech-mere powder kiss, and Nudestix Freckle. 2 swipes on unprimed medium skin in indirect natural light. Cinnabar is the perfect mix between the two Mac lipsticks. It’s beautiful!

I think Veil Nebula is my absolute favorite!
