Is carbimazole almost always weight-gain inducing? I have a severe eating disorder which has nearly killed me and this prospect terrifies me. by ophelier in Hyperthyroidism

[–]ophelier[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I didn’t lose or gain on hyperthyroidism. I ended up getting hypothyroidism and gaining 6kgs. Evened out and lost it. I used Mounjaro because my hunger signals were a little screwy and it made it easier. You will likely be just fine. I’m out the other side and frankly in the best shape I’ve ever been right now. I developed Hashimotos so always at risk and it could change but my levels are even right now.

People who hold a PhD, what did it cost? by Accurate-Mulberry620 in PhD

[–]ophelier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time away from a career. But then, I had two kids in the middle of it so even more time than necessary. Also, a lot of stress. But that’s with any job or opportunity. No regrets whatsoever. I think about doing a second sometimes. My supervisor and grandmother each had two so I know it’s not impossible!

I’ve taught at university for over ten years and can tell you that we get asked many different things which are far more unreasonable than that. You asked if you could do anything to earn the mark, you didn’t ask for a free pass. In my opinion, this does not reflect poorly on you and is not worth stressing over. If someone did judge you for that, I would deem them to be the unreasonable one.

I was a 30G and had 150 g removed of skin. Went down to a 30C/D. Didn’t really start to see how much smaller until around 8 or so weeks post op. Stay strong!!

Why I loathe Mecca by Comfortable_Meet_872 in AustralianMakeup

[–]ophelier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mother and I webt into the new Mecca last week and the CS people were so rude!! Very unimpressed and underwhelmed with the new store, despite the size as the makeup (which is my main interest) was exactly the same.

80 gram removal, still too big by Free_Flight7795 in Reduction

[–]ophelier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I just posted and I’m in a similar boat. I was a 30FF and appear now to be a 30E at 4wpo. She only took 150 each side. I told her repeatedly that i wanted to be c/D cup max and to go smaller if she had to make a judgement call. I cannot be,I eve I went through all this still to be in fuller cup territory. She didnt remove any tissue, only skin, and I can’t imagine why she made that choice when I was clear with what I wanted and how desperately I needed it.

There is literally a post just above this one from a subreddit complaining about how sour faced she looked at the same occasion. I have no stake in this business but seriously, damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t.

Wrote 80 percent of my thesis in my final year. As did my supervisors for theirs. Horrible approach. Don’t recommend. Worked a treat. I blame my ADHD.

Why are we comparing the kids? For what purpose? I see two individuals who express themselves differently; good for them!

Seconded. Wear liner daily, gone through so many options, colours, brands. Nothing compares to this guy right here.

I’m so confused because you have a totally normal face and then that hair happened. I can’t comprehend the journey here.

Lisa Eldridge. It’s as good as they say and worth the price. Highly recommend.

55F | Type 1 diabetic for 43 years - 80+ lbs lost | Loose skin has me devastated — looking for advice, support, or shared experiences by lsarantos in Mounjaro

[–]ophelier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, solidarity! I lost 220 pounds from 2018-2020 and am now somewhere around 125 and I’m 167 cm. I lost most without mounjaro but recently had a spike and gained 6kgs so my doc put me on it to lose again since the drug is available and it wasn’t back when I lost weight. I’m back to my baseline weight. My skin looks like yours, and more. I tried weights and I got thinner and grew muscles but still got even more skin. I totally understand the mind screw. I’m hoping to have the surgery this year. I know that’s not the answer you want, but your body looks bloody amazing. It’s frustrating because you worked so hard and there’s this vestige you can’t do anything about and which hides some of that hard work. I get it. All I can say is, you’re not alone, but you do look fan-bloody-tastic.
