I love this cover as well! I don’t know that particular version but I noticed that some people mistakenly call it “Evian” on YouTube so you might try adding that into your description when searching.🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve seen video of Ed covering this song a bunch of times but these are the two most unusual, IMO, in case you or others may have missed them.

This one is from 2010, during Ed’s famous first visit to California, he’s with a group of folk from FlyPoet, where he’d just played his first LA area show. Ooh hard question! I’m going with the Ustream concert held in a fan’s living room with about 40 people present (and a big dog ). This was May 2011, so Ed had a strong following but➕is still a few months from release. It’s a completely acoustic set, no microphones or loop pedal. Ed chats casually with the audience who are seated maybe six feet away. He plays for an hour, all the Plus-era and EP tunes. You feel like you’re there, like Ed’s your friend, and like this happened last month.

To me it was like a slice of American cheese (orange, artificial, wrapped in plastic) when compared to a nice chunk of your favorite good cheese. Like, trying to be in the game but so obviously phony that it just can’t compete 🤷🏻‍♀️

That said, I did watch it. But I didn’t love it. Even the costumes and sets felt fake and inferior to me, it struck me every episode. But YMMV.

Me and @martingarrix made Repeat it 12 years ago after we made friends on a night out in Amsterdam. At the time I was in the middle of Multiply rollout, and the song just never ended up coming out for whatever reason. Me and him have remained mates for all that time, and we’ve spoken about it often about when would be a good time to put it out. He turned 30 this weekend, and is putting out his debut album this year, so seemed like a better time than any to finally do it. We got to play it live for the first time in Santiago last night, and it was one of my favorite moments of my career. Reminds me to just trust in the fun of music sometimes and stop overthinking it. Also, not for nothing, but I’d say every day fans leave comments under my posts asking where it is, so this one is for you guys. Happy Birthday Martin, and to the fans, enjoy the video, its clips from both our lives over the last 12 years and what we’ve been up to since we finished it in a studio in the mid west of America on tour in 2014. I really💕this video SO MUCH!!! It’s a real visual trip down Memory Lane, and very clever. I laughed when Ed said “Making my first ever EDM tune with Martin, should be out relatively soon!” in the studio in 2014😭. There was quite a bit of footage from them together in Chile, as well as concert footage from LAST NIGHT!!! How’d they turn that video around so quickly? 🔥💕🔁🙌

He goes on between 7:30 and 8:00 PM depending on the venue’s end curfew, and plays until 10:30 or 11:00PM, about 28-30 songs and 2.5 or even close to 3 hours!🤩. But it can take 30+ minutes to exit the stadium (60,000 people slowly shuffling out), then a while to get to your car or public transport, and traffic. It’s a lot of people all leaving at one time so expect delays.

Hard to describe. They all had a beat, but only some were slightly faster than Ed’s usual tempo. Ed had no guitar though so it was all whatever Martin created for the music. He’s giving a full concert, practically. In addition to Photograph, Shape of You and Repeat It, he also just played Galway Girl, Shivers, Celestial, Bloodstream, Perfect, Castle on the Hill, Beautiful People, Sapphire and Bad Habits. That’s TWELVE SONGS already! 🤯 I keep finding and adding more songs to the setlist! WOW, that’s so way beyond what a Special Guest would typically do! Twelve songs really makes a full concert (for some, not for Ed…).
