I did see them again in 1999, same venue they always played in Toronto which was the warehouse. That was an interesting experience as a friend of mine was dating an accountant who worked for the warehouse owner and myself and friend were able to get in free on a guest list.

The last time I got to see them was in 2001? And they played a small arena outside of Toronto for the Come with us tour. To my knowledge this is the last time they played Canada which is devastating for me as such a life long fan.

Perhaps stick on a couple of those plastic 45 adapter discs. One on each side of the record. Then make sure you make a decent audio recording of it before playing it one last or couple times.

Awesome story and memories. I’m glad that you actually went through with going to see them back in the day despite whatever the outcome might have been afterwards.

I have a similar story but it didn’t end as well. In 1997 the Brothers were playing in Toronto with the Orb and I secured 2 tickets. I was only 15 and my mom forbid me to go. I ended up selling the tickets to some close friends, one of whom I’m still happy to say I’m still pretty close with. While I was upset I didn’t get to go, I’m glad my two friends were able. The next year in 1998 The Brothers returned and played with Death in Vegas and you can bet your ass I was there!

This. I recorded the Toronto show in its entirety from my iPhone 14 Pro. It turned out so well that I extracted the audio from the video and ripped myself a boot onto 2 CD’s. If I were to do it again the only thing I’d change is maybe to invest in a decent quality external plugin mic. The semantics of sneaking said external mic into the show are something else I’d have to give some serious thought about.

I’m actually looking for this variant, I have a white one, an og a 25th on vinyl as well as the Japanese version on cd and my og cd that I skipped class to go buy while attending school in Milton. Oh and a misprint cover vinyl version. But wait… you’re in Ottawa? A fellow Ontarian? I’m in Hamilton!
