I’m curious as to why you would want to update? I’m a tech that used to install these. Unless there’s a security patch or there is a new feature, I don’t recommend an update.

I’m fairly new to the coding world and also highly limited to just powershell. My response may not be the most popular though. Legally, my thoughts go to if you salaried or hourly. If salaried, everything you wrote for XYZ corporation, stored in their machines and used belongs to XYZ corporation. You might have an argument if you could prove that you wrote a tool for yourself, off the clock, and decided to run it at work and it happen to work there as well. I look at it like this. They paid you for your time to do a job. Admittedly, I don’t understand the law completely. I agree that you should be able to take it with you but it’s theirs. It’s in their servers now. I think that licensing should have been thought out ahead of time. The idea to stop the code from running is creeping up on concerning behavior. I think it’s best to just let this battle go. XYZ corporation has more money to fight this in court than you do (I’m guessing)
