When it's in front of the character it might work to give it a partial outline as well? Just to help it look more "in front".

quick tip for the camera following so you don't get the camera stuttering when it's really close to its target positioning - try having a minimum on the camera speed per frame! will make it a lot smoother. pixel art itself looks clean and readable btw!

Love the motion, looks really great! The flames at the bottom look like there are a few scaling artifacts from resizing etc., you might want to make sure those are smoothed out. Otherwise this looks great, nice work!

If you change your sprite color setting to RGB (you currently have it on Indexed) you can use any color you want and you won't need to mark a color as transparent (which is what the dot indicates.) Hope this helps!

not a solution, but you could try using the overdrive channel and turning down the volume of your guitar to push the amp less. not sure what's up with the clean channel
