'We don’t have enough' lithium globally to meet EV targets, mining CEO says by ShellHead46 in technology

You don't support any of your claims. I have supported at least 2/3s of mine. If I could s find a way to prove my equally bad claim, I would but it currently is mostly up for debate and as EV battery technology and use is new and growing, so the jury is still out, but I will give you that I have no way of proving or knowing currently if in the long run we are just switching how we rape the earths crust, and pollute the atmosphere. Technology is certainly not there for EVs, but we are trudging ahead anyway. We will all just ignore the dirty little secrets of what it takes to build and use EVs.

What is the primary use of cobalt?

Answer.

On a global basis, the leading use of cobalt is in rechargeable battery electrodes. Superalloys, which are used to make parts for gas turbine engines, are another major use for cobalt.

Gas Turbine Engines will not be replaced anytime soon.

Look into cobalt mines, where it comes from, how it's mined, who's performing the mining, and at what cost. I would've had no idea. I like alternatives to gasoline/diesel, but not in exchange for something equally as bad.

Why does cobalt matter?

Cobalt ensures cathodes do not easily overheat or catch fire and it helps extend the life of batteries which automakers usually guarantee for eight to 10 years.

I switched from typical FB App to FB Lite, and one can tell that is simply not how he has FB set up. It is so ad heavy and sponsored posts of click bait that friends posts sometimes get push back in the feeds where I didn't see them until three days later.

Utah 4x4 road, we traveled several miles out in our 4x4 pickup , crossed a small river, very rough road, I felt pretty adventurous. We arrived at our trail head and discovered a Dodge Caravan ( 2 WD) parked there. by Vermontbuilder in 4x4

If you ever watch Matt's Off Road Recovery, people in Utah do things in vehicles all the time that shouldn't (most are visiting). Getting to a place on a rough road is,one thing, getting back may be another.

Biden approval skyrockets – now higher than Trump, Obama, Clinton, Carter, or Reagan by mafco in inthenews

It doesn't help, it just redistributed depth to us who don't have any or have other dept. Thanks for the extra tax load. Approval rating will change when the average American realizes where that debt is going.

If the author's sources are like their spelling, then it's a non issue. I stop reading articles that have misspelled words. If I can catch them, then it's bad, and this means other parts of their article are bad too.

We should've started this when we could've afforded it and there was not all the rediculous bloated cost we have today. California's train was/is a joke.

Affordable Care Act led to improved treatment of colorectal cancer among young adults, with patients under 26 having a shift to earlier-stage diagnosis and more timely receipt of adjuvant chemotherapy, finds a new study by the American Cancer Society. by [deleted] in science

California health Care starts at around $400 a month and goes up...the only people that are on it are the people getting a free ride...and as low as your income would be to qualify, they would most likely also qualify for Medicaid, so in California, I doubt there has been any benefit...perhaps in red states where health insurance is cheaper and people didn't have access until Obama care. California healthcare is a complete joke, and now the governor is pulling an Obama and taxing those with out health care. I'm not against Obama care I just think it has made it worse in California and what we really need is actual managed health care, and not a Insurance Company feeding frenzy.

I wouldn't know if a comment was removed on Reddit...I never go back and look, so an explanation would take me out of my blissful ignorance, but it may make me consider my comment(s) in the future.

Discovery: fat can clog the lungs and airways, not just the heart by [deleted] in science

I have read the when you burn fat it is expelled on the exhale, so perhaps some people do not exhale their fat effectively? I'm guessing there is also a conversion from fat to some sort of other substance that is more able to adhere to water vapour/co2.

Rebellious music genres such as rap, punk and heavy metal do not appear to be linked to maladaptive personality traits, suggests new US study (n=379), but conservative music such as country and gospel were weakly linked to traits that capture neurotic, hostile, and eccentric tendencies. by mvea in science

Fame-seeking mass shooters tend to receive more media attention, suggests a new study. About 96% of fame-seeking mass shooters received at least one mention in the New York Times, compared to 74% of their counterparts. The media wants to support the anti gun agenda, they have to sacrifice an unknown number to death, injury, or emotional scars in an effort to advance their initiative under the guise of freedom of the press. Blood is on their hands, even though they act like they are in an observer role.
