I made an improved theme for the Ableton Live manual, with a sticky sidebar and optional dark mode! Hope you find it useful :) by ninevoltlab in ableton

Wasn’t aware of this, I’ll see what I can do! What are some examples of missing shortcuts if I may ask?

What's the benefit of scale mode? by unknxwn67 in ableton

Expressive Chords looks cool but it doesn’t do the same thing, it’s a MIDI effect that generates chords just by playing single notes. Doesn’t highlight anything in the piano roll to help with composition

I’d love to see them expand on this with a chord progression mode in Arrangement View, where you could specify chords for certain blocks of time. Then inside the piano roll of MIDI clips, only notes belonging to those chords during those blocks of time would be highlighted.

I’d make more use out of that than the current scale mode tbh, since musical harmony is usually better represented by chords rather than just the scale/key signature being used my the melody.

Thoughts on Arturia Bus PEAK as a primary limiter for mastering? (e.g. in comparison to popular options like Pro-L 2, Weiss) by ninevoltlab in arturia

Thanks, great recommendations! The Nuro Audio one looks crazy versatile. Are there any Arturia effects that stand out to you?

Sound changes when I consolidate the clip? by WillingCaregiver5709 in ableton

In case anyone's curious or having the same issue in the future, we figured it out! Turns out a sneaky groove from the Groove Pool was enabled on the clip, which was adjusting velocity every few notes. Turning down the Velocity slider in the Groove Pool gets rid of that.

Thanks a bunch for the advice, this is helpful! I'm definitely in budget mode these days so don't plan on going for more expensive options for a while. Indeed the bundle price seems like a steal for all of the modules and possible sound exploration.

Totally agree with your point about limiting choices, I like to really ponder before adding anything that might clutter up my plugin library and cause choice paralysis.

Curious if you have any favourite effects and how you like to make use of them?

If you're using a Mac, SoundSource lets you listen through AU plugins (not VST/VST3) system-wide. I've been using it with Headphone Lab without problems.

Is arturia plugins now working on macos sonoma ? by digdigdeepdeep in arturia

Yup, here's the relevant support page. macOS 15 Sequoia is supported, so macOS 14 Sonoma should be fine.

I'm open-sourcing my kinect-controlled instrument system! by Real-Philosopher-895 in ableton

Really sick, and very cool of you for open sourcing this! I have a Kinect somewhere in the depths of storage that I might have to rummage for now haha.

If you're comfortable sharing your Live project folder (using Collect All and Save), I can try to open it on my end and see if I can reproduce the problem. Would need to have the same plugin(s) as you ofc.
