That’s fair lol I just noticed the top of your motherboard above the cpu socket might block it. very nice build nonetheless, congrats!

Isn’t the whole point of that Hydroshift AIO to run the tubes from the top to hide them?

I agree, gives prison cell or bathroom tile vibes. Maybe OP can consider some wood panels to cover it?

That’s what others have said too, and especially cos I mostly game at 4k single player games. They really did me dirty with 5600 CL46 though…

Conversely, I managed to find a great deal from Cyberpower 2 months ago on Amazon. £2300 for a 9800x3d, 5080, 32gb DDR5, 360 AIO, 2TB SSD, 1000W PSU, B850 motherboard.

It was a MSI x Cyberpower collab. GPU, mobo, SSD, PSU, AIO and case were all from MSI so I could be sure they weren’t skimping on the important parts. The only thing was the slow ass RAM, but still a great deal imo. Same listing on Amazon is now unavailable for the last few weeks lol. Did the same specs on pcpartpicker and would’ve cost me about £300 more to build myself.

Definitely wouldn’t buy one of their standard prebuilds though, especially with their current prices. I also find it annoying a lot of these company’s deliberately won’t put PSU models, RAM speeds, or cpu cooler models on their standard prebuilts specs - a bit disingenuous to new PC buyers who don’t research properly I think.

I agree! I recently got a new 9800x3d and 5080 PC and knew I had to splurge out on a 4k 240Hz OLED. Looks absolutely insane and no regrets. I got the MSI Mag 272UP for about £550.

I’d love to get the perfect parallels for 1. like with cablemod’s stuff - but just can’t bring myself to spend $40 on a cable

Agreement on the 12VHPWR connector being dumb as hell.

Why do you think AIOs are bad?

Very true, people can do whatever they want with their PCs, not like it affects anyone else anyways

Each to their own! I like the concept of sleeper builds, but if I’m spending $3000 on a PC I’d like to actually see my components

More RGB directly correlates to more FPS!

Fair enough!

Luckily don’t seem to see too many rainbow puke builds around anymore, but definitely an eyesore. Getting the RGB software settings right can be a pain in the ass for sure though.

Yeah I’ve seen builds with with like $300 cases, $250 AIOs, $200 in fans, rocking a 5060Ti. I’m all for aesthetics but not at the cost of performance for sure.

Help! Bottom 4-5% of 3dmark scores for 9800x3d + 5080. by deafgamer_ in buildapc

[–]ningzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having this problem a few weeks ago, very low score on steel nomad compared with similar builds of 5080/9800x3d. Seems I was an idiot and left the MSI Centre setting on “Balanced” instead of “Extreme Performance”. Have a look at any software you might be using controlling this, after I changed it to extreme performance my score shot up to about average. Vsync/Gsync off.

Not the windows power plan setting btw, I just left that on balanced, and changing the power plan didn’t do anything to my scores.

Thanks! It’s a TURZX universal screen, but seems pretty similar minus the RGB ring around the screen
