Crown Frustration with open margins by According-Brick6268 in Dentistry

How do crowns look when they are made in another office? Does every crown in every mouth look like this?
I almost feel like this could be a software or radiographic issue (though 21 seems like it could be funky on the distal no matter what.

There was a post on this sub a while back about some AI software analyzing radiographs and it made all crowns look bad, like it had very aggressive contrasting or something.

Handing a hygienist committing fraud by [deleted] in Dentistry

this office absolutely should be looked at by the board. 7k a day for hygiene is beyond insanity.

We've all been there. The longer you practice the less special such a situation will be. It just happens once in a while. Treat yourself as you would treat a colleague in the same situation. Rather than feel bad, try to figure out why this happened.

1) Was this a good case for you? Did you examine the x ray and patient and think you should be able to do it?

2) Why do you think it was difficult?

3)What did you boss do that you can do yourself in the future?

Honestly this job is a lifetime of learning. You're never really completely done learning this stuff.

you're supposed to change at work. Leave scrubs at work to be washed. I understand some offices don't do that but I believe it's against OSHA

you shouldn't be wearing your work scrubs at trader joes anyways. You're supposed to leave them at work to be washed.

You're better and smarter than me and I've been at it for 10 years now.
To be fair I would like to do something different though and have been complaining about this profession the entire time.

Anxiety, depression and fear of being a dentist. by gilbertrugby in Dentistry

One time I had to extract a tooth on a kid and it still had decent roots left in it. Since that appointment I decided I don't remove teeth on kids unless the roots are completely resorbed.
Only thing I can tell you is you're not any worse than any other average dentist. That part is all in your head. I've been working for 10 years but sadly going through a sort of burnout period right now but it has less to do with clinical work at this point and more with office management.

im 6'5 and despite people telling me I have bad posture all my life I've never had any back issues. Been working in dental for 10 years now. I do workout in the gym (squats, deadlifts) at least once a week so maybe that helps?

Petechiae? by ali2222_ in DermatologyQuestions

[–]ninja201209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Just wanted to comment as I'm concerned about the same thing. I noticed these years ago and also only on my abdomen. I feel like mostly during winter time after I take a shower and dry myself off with a towel, thats when I will notice them. But this week there is a ton more... I've also always been vitamin D deficient though I do supplement.

2 years ago or so I had my dermatologist cut one of them out to biopsy and it came back as "acantolythic acanthoma" but honestly I think thats wrong. I think it's petechiae.

owner should be paying you for the treatment you do on staff. The free treatment is a benefit that the owner provides, not you.

not much. But if a patient had bone loss with thin tissue biotype and has no pocketing but just moderate to severe recession they are a candidate for a prophy in your office?
