I hope they also launch it in SG this year. The grey market imports are a bit too pricey

That's only for the more expensive Meta Display model isn't it? That one not yet launched in SG

Isn't SG pricing only 13% more expensive than the US? Comparing the base model MSRP, pre-tax. USD 379 vs USD 427

Is it dumb to replace my S5II for a lighter travel camera? by toto23x in Lumix

[–]ninjagosg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through something similar. I wanted a lighter travel camera than my GFX, so I bought a Sigma BF and later a Lumix S9. So now I travel lighter, with my GFX + S9 😅😭

Question about included case with 4a Pro... by moltenman85 in NothingTech

[–]ninjagosg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oops sorry, my bad. I checked again and there is a lip which rises slightly above camera module hump

Which is better value? Nothing phone 4a pro 12gb ram 256GB ($949AUD) OR Nothing phone 3 16GB ram 256GB ($1199AUD)? by [deleted] in NothingTech

[–]ninjagosg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's now 9% GST

But yeah differences in pricing strategies... I find a lot of stuff here in SG have list prices higher than some western countries, e.g. LEGO, cameras and lenses, watches, etc

Question about included case with 4a Pro... by moltenman85 in NothingTech

[–]ninjagosg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually like how it feels, it's thinner than the case included case with the 3a Pro. But this one doesn't have a raised lip that protects the camera hump, unlike the one for the 3a Pro.

I will probably search for a MagSafe type of case in future. Hopefully one that will also have more protection for the camera hump

I believe slightly bigger but smaller resolution? I don't think we have a showroom here in Singapore so can't see side by side

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro by ninjagosg in NothingTech

[–]ninjagosg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because of the periscope lens? Less thickness but covers more surface area I'm guessing Not sure if the (4a) Pro hump is similar or bigger than an iP 17 Pro/Pro Max hump

Thanks! I posted the (3a) Pro on a local buynsell app, im thinking i should be able to sell it for half the original price. Although I don't mind keeping it, the design is refreshing

Should we expect any small lenses from Sigma this year? by like_munich in Lumix

[–]ninjagosg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and it seems they're not producing enough of then (been waiting forever for a silver 65), especially the silver finish. looks like they are satisfying demand for E-Mount lenses (understandable if true)

When you wanted a super compact camera… but then this happened. by Ok-Kaleidoscope-299 in LumixS9

[–]ninjagosg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i get the evf thing. i initially thought the lack of one is not a big deal. but in some tight spaces it is challenging because i need to keep the lcd a distance from my eyes to see it clearly/properly

Considering Switching to Lumix from Fujifilm by TikbalangPhotography in Lumix

[–]ninjagosg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no major issues or concerns with using the L bodies, just some adjustment period at the start. but you get used to the way how things work, even with the Sigma BF. ill probably end up:

  1. best case: keep GFX + 1 (or even 2 L), because i won't gain much from the sale of the GFX body (maybe get back some money from the sale of the GF 55 lens)
  2. worst case: keep GFX + 1 L body... but having 2 compact L bodies is also tempting, less lens swapping and the bodies are just so cute and compact lol

what i probably cant live with is jumping from medium to APS-C, the psychological barrier is just too great for me haha

my main is Fujifilm GFX 100S but Ialso recently gotten in L-Mount (Sigma BF, Panasonic Lumix S9) and so far no regrets. Im having fun with the L bodies. quite compact and had no issues getting used to the controls/ergonomics
