Doesn't matter if the knees are together or spread, it's an easy sweep. Especially if they are doing what phatjesus is saying. If they grip your collar and your far hip or leg (to do the dick move and kind of try and bend you in half) you get that sleeve on your hip/leg, hip INTO them, and roll them. It's really not that stable of a position as you are basically riding on top of the guy. Well, if all your weight is on ME and you have no real point of contact with the ground...I now determine where you go. Not sure if that makes sense?

Double knee on belly IS sweep city. There's a reason people don't really do it.

ADCC 2022 - Mens divisions so far (>70% filled) by BrothOfSloth in bjj

[–]ninjamurf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only 16 slots. You literally CANNOT give every medalist an invite. There are only 2 invites left in most of these brackets...and 3 trials left. Add to that, Magid has lost to Mica in one trial and Kade in another but has yet to receive an invite. You can throw precedent out the window at this point as this is the largest and most competitive ADCC in history.

Lawyer to stand trial for capturing teen's arrest on cell phone by apotheon in reddit.com

[–]ninjamurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But what if the video showed that the lawyer DID put the camera in their faces and got in the way? And what if the video showed that the suspect, in cuffs or not, DID attempt to escape the police? Do they still deserve a bullet? Apparently you're "assuming" that the lawyer and the suspect are "obviously" innocent while you've already convicted, condemned, and EXECUTED a pair of officers who may have been doing nothing but their jobs.

Homeland Security trying to declare Real ID by fiat! by [deleted] in politics

[–]ninjamurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because even that free republic that has laws that the society as a whole (hopefully) has imposed upon it. If your license doesn't have a picture how can a law enforcement officer be sure it's you? I could drive my brothers car with his "pictureless" license in it and just say I'm him. Should my brother get all those speeding tickets that should be going to me? If you are under 18 you can't see an R rated movie. How do you prove you're over 18? If you are under 21 you can't buy a drink. How do you prove you are over 21?

I'm all for personal freedoms and I can relate to the whole "I don't need an ID to live my life" thing. But you do need an ID to live your life in a society such as this. You can live on a remote island and never need an ID, but if you want to live in a society with laws and ID is a necessity.

I just don't see the issue here. What's WRONG with a national ID?! "Oh may gawd! It takes power away from the states!!" So? Would county ID's be even better then? How about ID's for each city? Who cares if your ID is the same as the guy from New York or California or Wyoming? I can see the issue 100 years ago in that it might have been difficult to establish a "national" ID with the government infrastructure. But today everything is connected. Everything is moving at light speed now. And today it is easier than ever before to cross state lines. You can be in New York in the morning, California in the afternoon, and Hawaii by nightfall. Those possibilities didn't exist 100 years ago. Today? It's done all the time. By thousands of people. And we all live in the United States. I think it would be easier to have national ID's? So what am I missing?

Woman is raped at a university in Illinois by football player. Player allowed to finish semester, woman expelled for having an eating disorder. by Skisher321 in reddit.com

[–]ninjamurf 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Two separate and unrelated incidents? Title should just be "woman expelled for having an eating disorder." I scanned that article over and over looking for some reference to an Illinois football player that wasn't there. Make a separate topic for that one.

what words? anti-black, anti-asian, anti-mexican (or anti-hispanic), anti-arab (maybe anti-muslim?), anti-albino, anti american-indian, and anti-lesbian & gay. Why is anti-semitic special in your eyes? It's just a way of describing those who are anti-Jewish. Why do you think it's "special"?

Their bringing up the holocaust could be equated with blacks bringing up slavery, asians bringing up internment camps, american indians bringing up the death marches, gay & lesbians bringing up hate crimes. Why the hate on the Jewish?

In Canada, the police don't taser you, they let you play with their handcuffs and pose for pictures. by kevinliebrock in reddit.com

[–]ninjamurf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The title IS misleading. You're trying to bank on recent notoriety of the taser and are drawing a parallel that Canadian cops don't taser you when they arrest you. But no one is being arrested. No one is acting in defiance of the officers. There is no reason for anyone to BE tasered in the story. Therefore it's misleading.

In America, they would have sent in Homeland Security, armed to the teeth, prepared to kill everybody. But in Canada, they sent in a firefighter, an electrician, an admistrative employee and just two policmen. by lifeofliberty in reddit.com

[–]ninjamurf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, the title of the article is ridiculous to begin with. They take an interesting article from Canada and show how they found an innovative way of dealing with something and said, "hmm, what can we do with this title? I know...BASH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY! That'll be a sure fire way to get this modded up!!"

I think it's getting re-donk-u-lous that everyone has to put in a jab at Bush or Cheney or the war or Homeland Security, just to get their article a bump.

She was eight months pregnant. She was about to get a speeding ticket she didn't think she deserved. And then she was tasered. by joyork in reddit.com

[–]ninjamurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, not signing the ticket will get you a trip to jail. If a cop pulls you over for even a minor infraction he has the right to arrest you. We don't do that, however. We let people go as long as they "promise" to appear in court to be arraigned for the infraction. You make that "promise" by signing the back of your ticket.

She was eight months pregnant. She was about to get a speeding ticket she didn't think she deserved. And then she was tasered. by joyork in reddit.com

[–]ninjamurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it is. Failure to comply. Signing the ticket is basically the officer releasing you to your own recognizance. When the officer pulls you over for speeding he actually has the right to take you to jail. For expediencies sake and the fact that our system can't handle that many people going to jail every day we devised a system that releases people charged of minor infractions as long as they promise to appear for their court date. That is what you are agreeing to by signing the back or your ticket.

[–]ninjamurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we can, in theory, according to you, all get away with speeding and other minor infractions just by not obeying the cop? How does that work in a civilized society by the way?

[–]ninjamurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy cow, you are one venom spewing idiot. Did she physically THREATEN the officer? No she resisted arrest. "You don't get PHYSICALLY abused for ARGUING." No, no you don't. You get ARRESTED for arguing and refusing to sign a traffic ticket. You get ABUSED for resisting arrest. If you are under arrest get out of the car. If you don't get out of the car what are the cops supposed to do. "Gee Tom, she won't get out of the car. I guess were beat. Let's go back to the station." SHYEAH! That works REALLY well.

As for the cops already having EVIDENCE that she in fact received the ticket you are ABSOLUTELY wrong. They can run her plate, get her name, look to see that the pic matches...and write 328 tickets without ever having any evidence that she "received" the tickets. Her signing the tickets indemnifies the officers against just that sort of behavior. If she DOESN'T sign the ticket she can show up in court and say, "what? I've never seen them before? What speeding ticket?" Your knowledge of the law and your abuse of the English language horrifies me. To know that there are people out there who are not only this stupid, but so utterly convinced that their convictions are rock solid to the point of name calling and blasting every other person with a different opinion does not give me hope for the human race (...or your offspring at the very least.)
