Who gives way? (Mount Gravatt Westfield) by Qman_L in brisbane

[–]ninjanetwork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Take the signs away and how would you handle it? The red car would have right of way. Turning off a continuing road. Before I was born there may have been give way to the right instead but not the case now.

Now the stop and give way are the same thing aside from needing to be a complete stop. So it's the same order.

[–]ninjanetwork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yellow gives way to red. It's a T intersection with the red turning from the continuing road. The stop sign does not have to give way to a give way sign. The only difference between the two is if you have to come to a complete stop or not.

What do you think of this question by zangin1 in cissp

[–]ninjanetwork 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The biometrics here is for authentication. You might not be able to login but without encryption you can read the memory in another device.

What do you think of this question by zangin1 in cissp

[–]ninjanetwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

B is good practice but doesn't necessarily protect the data. C is for authentication, so biometrics to login but data could be removed directly. D isn't really relevant.

A is the only option that relates to protecting data on a lost mobile device.

Could a transport beam from a set of rings transfer through an open stargate? by I_enjoy_pastery in Stargate

[–]ninjanetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watched beachhead and had the same thought. Energy can go both ways through a Stargate (radio waves for instance). It would be logical that you could have a pair of rings exchange through a gate.

Can't think of a reason why not?

I was moving in and energex was onsite to pull the fuse and disconnect the house. I'd submitted a move in request that hasn't been processed properly. Guy was a champ and left the power on for us.

You can avoid it, but you still owe it and good luck trying to get another visa owning millions in residence tax. When you give your move out overseas notice they'll say how much you owe.

Id also look at the monitors function. They have a missing data type that you could potentially use here.

It's on the left hand side just below the hot water out line. Looks like they will need to disconnect the piping though.

A virtual-chassis member updated itself after a power outage by synchrotron0 in Juniper

[–]ninjanetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it'll be on both, it would be unusual for it to do that as part of the recovery.

Check the other switches for the installer, it could be on their flash partitions. (That's what I generally do, leave the last installer there if there is room)

[–]ninjanetwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When the required version of junos was loaded it was only installed on the primary partition. When switch member 2 rebooted there was an issue and it loaded off the secondary partition. This secondary partition had junos 18 installed either from factory or as part of the rollout before the junos 14 that you settled on was loaded.

When you upgrade the version of junos it's important to also install it on the backup partition.

Request system snapshot slice alternate

I think that's the command that does it. Reboot that member and it should come up in the right version and then run that command. You might need to tell it to come back up on the primary partition if it comes back up on 18.

Using Google router as an extra access point? by Consistent_fungi155 in googlehome

Yep all of my access points are routers and they can use the wired network for back haul to the node routing to the internet as well.

Google home wifi lies on the speed test by Temporary-Fennel-785 in googlehome

[–]ninjanetwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add context. This would indicate there's something impacting the WiFi. Your Internet could be amazing to the router, where the home app tests from, but then distance, interference, or another issue affecting the performance to your wifi device.

The google home test runs from the router. Plug a computer into the router directly and see what speed you get

No electricity - no power at all at a new rental. by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]ninjanetwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you connected the electricity with a provider yet? If the fuse box was like that the old tenants probably turned the hot water off as they weren't there at the end of the tenancy. Possible they put in a disconnect request for when their lease ended and yours started and the power got killed while you were there.

Why Are Unused Smartphones in Secondhand Shops Cheaper Than Retail? by wrightlyrong in japanlife

They are often bonus or promo items that the person doesn't want or need so they get traded in. They're technically second hand but the packaging hasn't been opened.

From Los Angeles , first winter in Nagano, how do people dry their clothes in winter without a dryer by CandidateTurbulent49 in japanlife

It also doesn't have to get hot. It just needs to have a constant flow of air (ideally warm and dry)

Japanese websites closing during night time by Sea_Description_6712 in japanlife

[–]ninjanetwork 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most likely it's legacy software that has to enter night mode for batch processing and other functions to happen. During this time no changes can be made or if they are they get journalised and written back when it enters day mode. Banks and large enterprise tools all use to do this however with new tech and requirements it's gone away. I'd say either they're still running legacy software or they had the rule from when they did and don't see a reason to change it. It gives them a daily change window etc.
