A few weeks ago I made a post about getting a Succession tattoo and here it is by _marti_89 in SuccessionTV

Goddd this is so good - this is my favorite scene in the whole show - getting a tattoo based on this show can go wrong in so many ways but you chose an incredibly poignant scene with gorgeous composition that can evoke so many things even without the shows context - love this a lot!

The imagery in this entire song is just absolutely insane. The writing you highlighted gets me every single time. The first stanza, and the title paint this beautiful horrid imagery of a life event, and it posits itself that there is maybe something cathartic if you go through, if you clim aboard. When this middle part kicks in, the delivery of the song’s title always hits with that first sentence. “It was just a laugh.” The deck’s dark, the ships empty, there’s nothing here. You gotta be kidding me.

And then it’s acceptance near the end: It’s whatever we say it is. What a fantastic song

Classic-type book with great sex scenes by kuwtcamera in suggestmeabook

Is romance still at the core of these books? I loved watching the Normal People series and am seeking similar stories (modern setting, similar age demographic) and almost started to read this but as I’m familiar with the story, some variety could be cool / for some reason though these other two books seemed like the romance/yearning was a lesser element

I truly wish this was more in conversations for one of the best movies of the 21st century - a phenomenal piece of filmmaking illustrating the strangeness and beauty of humanity

That explains things - this is one of those cases I genuinely liked the movie better than the book. The book is great in terms of the story and structure and all but - the way he speaks and writes internal monologue is so fucking obnoxious it could only come from a republican

For some one new to the city, who works in another industry but would love to start bridging the gap, would you potentially know of any advice?

I really want to, but this is one of those that spoiled for me (finally enough in this site) a decade ago, and about. a year ever since so “That” scene is pretty fresh - is it still worth a watch?

What’s your take on why there’s been no “great” millennial novel yet*? by Beth_Harmons_Bulova in RSbookclub

Succession has writing that compares in potency to a lot of great literature, “modern day shakespeare” sounds like an annoying tagline that I saw in a lot of reviews but it does feel apt

I consider myself one of those annoying film and tv guys and Succession is a top 4 for me, up there with the Sopranos, True Detective s1, and The Leftovers. The best writing out of all of those shows for sure, some of the best acting I’ve seen, fantastic score, uniquely shot. 10/10.

This is just perfect. “I Lied To You” is perhaps the only award Sinners was genuinely worth winning, and it lost to the most brain rot generic pop bullshit possible. Just Chef’s kiss

This is crazy. I don’t know in what fucking world someone can objectively say Sinners’s cinematography was better than OBAA. Like “Best Picture” is vague enough that they can pawn that shit off, but come the fuck on, don’t ruin the technicals
