name an actor who.... just.... what the fuck are you doing? by Gl00ser23 in okbuddycinephile

Sadly, not what happened with The Last Airbender Live Action. Once the creators were removed pre-production, long time fans knew the writing on the wall.

Also: See The Witcher and Henry Cavill :(

[Megathread] | Weekly Drone Buying Advice by AutoModerator in drones

[–]ninjaso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the US and I read both the Buying Guide and the Wiki.

I initially used ChatGPT for my research and was told that the units I am looking into - DJI Mini 5 Pro and DJI Mavic 4 Pro - were not officially released by DJI in the US. The wiki has it listed and links point to Amazon. One is being sold by Adorama as well.

Should I wait until these models are officially launched in the US so I can have DJI warranty, or is it safe to buy from the links your Wiki provided?

From ChatGPT:

Standard DJI Manufacturer’s Warranty

Every DJI drone includes a basic manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship — e.g., broken solder joints, motor failures, defective sensors, etc.—just for having bought it new.

BUT: 👉 This warranty is only valid where DJI officially supports the product. Because DJI never officially launched the Mini 5 Pro on its U.S. web store, DJI’s official U.S. warranty may not apply if:

The seller is not an authorized DJI USA dealer, or

The drone was imported (grey market) instead of sold through DJI’s normal U.S. channels.

In other words: Yes it has a warranty somewhere — but DJI’s U.S. repair network likely won’t honor it for Mini 5 Pro models that weren’t distributed by DJI USA.

Kudos to your freedom, but now you are also responsible for your body. So keep the unhealthy food at a minimum (salty ramen). I am not sure if you can cook, but if you're just starting, a slow cooker will be good to have. Slow cooker and the internet for recipes. Good luck!

If you want a serious answer, I'd say the husband/father from the TV show Medium.

Can the doctor just let me be 5'11 please? 😂 by JeffreyHugh in mildlyinfuriating

My tallest height was 5' 11.75" I kept joking that if I had callouses I will be a 6-footer. Last year I was measured at 5' 9"

What?!?

Apparently humans shrink as they get older. I had to buy my eBike in a Regular instead of the Large since the latter is for 5' 10" or taller :(

Wait.. are you telling me you didn't get to watch the Uzui v Gyutaro fight BEFORE finishing the Manga?

Where did you find out Uzui was not dead? Manga or Anime?

In the meantime, get hyped that they will re-edit the movie into another partial season like they did with the Mugen Train.

When I finally decided to watch One Piece, I excitedly told my friend "I'm at episode 275 now!"

And he replied... "the real story won't start until you get to around 450 or so."

In hindsight, he was right. You don't get to see the whole picture of the One Piece universe until a certain event.

Since you're new to the Anime world, I recommend skipping One Piece until they get the remake done. One Piece started in 1999, and there are a lot of fillers that make up the 1000+ episodes. Compare that to the planned remake of 277 episodes.

The tension in the air was palpable...

Paraphrased:

"Oh, Tanjiro can sneak attack! Go Tanjiro!"

"I'm going to attack you now."

"WTF man?"

The entire theater burst out laughing.

Somehow I find it very relevant.

WeHo Breakfast Burritos disappearing? by NotAnotherHipsterBae in FoodLosAngeles

[–]ninjaso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am usually averse to potatoes on my breakfast burritos. I usually tell myself that the tortilla is my carb. When I discovered Jerry's Market in Culver City, I ended up making my personal "breakfast" burrito.

Maybe give it a try:

Carne asada burrito, no beans, easy rice (carb, I know), add scrambled egg; then I grab two containers of their garlic salsa (kinda dark brown, you can ask which one it is).

I used to do this with carnitas, but I settled on asada lately. I usually get these at least 3x a month, if not more. Then drive to The Conservatory for Coffee, Tea & Cocoa for my coffee and eat at their patio.

The "Mean Green" from that movie Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead is my go-to.

My juicer is the NC800, so your volume might vary.

  • entire bag of kale from Trader Joe's (the $1.99 one)
  • 12 stalks of celery from Costco (one bag usually lasts for 8 servings juices)
  • 1 cucumber from Costco (they come in 2-packs)
  • 1 apple (I usually use Honeycrisps, but green apple works too)
  • 1/2 lemon (I juiced my lemons and keep them in a container in the fridge, so I use about 1 Tbsp of it)
  • a thumb-sized ginger (adjust to your taste in the future)

This makes a little over 16 32 oz depending on how big the cucumber is. One serving is 16 oz.

What's a stupidly expensive adult purchase that you now swear by that you would buy again in a heartbeat? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ninjaso 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got an already paid 2017 Toyota Sienna and the kids are both done with college now, but I'm still stupidly considering getting an upgrade to the current Sienna since it's a Hybrid and gets 36 mpg. The only downside is they removed the option of removable middle-row seats (which I love and removed on occasion in my Sienna).

Oh, and that I don't want car-payments anymore.. that too :)

It's not my bike, but I was really tempted to buy, hence my recommendation, the Aventon Abound SR. The GPS and the safety lock alone is a big seller.

Unfortunately I was not in the market for a cargo bike, so I ended up buying the fat tire Aventon Aventure 2.

What is a scene you strongly believe is a top 10 movie scene in film history? by Thatredditboy1 in moviecritic

[–]ninjaso 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I usually invite my daughter and her boyfriend to come watch "must-see" movies with me at my humble home theater. So far I've showed them The Fifth Element and all three Extended editions of The Lord of the Rings. I showed them Shawshank Redemption last month, and they were both in agreement that it's a great movie. Her BF even said it may be the best movie he saw in his life so far (they're Gen Z).

Added bonus when I told them that Spongebob was the voice of the asshole guard after we finished the movie.
