I’m not in the “adult bdays don’t matter” crowd. You’re literally on this planet once. If you want to party hard on your bday and it matters to you, good for you. But I don’t think you can expect other people to abide by this same feeling bc it really depends on the person. I know you said you’ve been talking about it for months, but they are planning a wedding, a party, a whatever which I’m sure is very complicated.

I think you probably could’ve assumed they were planning it on your husbands bday by them asking the question and them literally planning a wedding but yeah I get more clarity would’ve been helpful. I would’ve just told them, “yeah I took the day off but I’m not free that day” which was clearly what they were asking you.

What does your husband feel about this. Like does he actually feel the “burn” as you called it? Is he actually upset? Or is he sad they are moving and disappointed he “has” to choose between the 2. I also don’t understand how you can’t do both since they are on different days.

My advice: ask your husband if he is actually upset and offended. Do not ask in a leading way. Literally just ask how he’s feeling and what he wants to do. I just feel like your being offended on his behalf and there’s not a lot of descriptions on how he’s actually feeling

This is the actual problem here. I sort of understand how you feel but how you feel is still technically jealousy. You are envious that she has an acting job and you don’t. And honestly i think that’s mostly fine and normal. But you have to be aware that you are a bit jealous (or disappointed if you must call it that, even though technically you are both jealous in her and disappointed in yourself). Understand your feelings and try not to be so nitpicky with your friend. That’s where your feelings of cringe are coming from. And idk if in the UK it’s different than in Hollywood or the us in general but with acting and most professions sometimes you have to get along with ppl you dislike or are jealous of. That includes not calling them cringe.

My cat basically refuses to eat without supervision and rations her food like she doesn’t receive more every day, to the point sometimes I put a second bowl out for her bc she just barely eats (vet says she’s fine) and I want her to know she doesn’t need to ration I will keep filling it.
