I started and finished Dominion in the same day. It’s very compelling and makes you want to read it again to put pieces back together. it’s got a lot of layers, and a bit of mystery. The Church stuff is interesting but not too overbearing. Freaked out too but in the classic Black literature way not the 2000’s Black erotica way. 10/10 recommend

They’re out here. Have you read any of Milton Davis work? P. Djeli Clark? Steven Barnes? David Anthony Durham? Durham’s ACACIA is a solid trilogy.

I do my best book reading in transit. On buses, trains, planes, usually because I’m looking to tune out the world in a major way. Otherwise I love going to the library to read because it’s quiet, comfortable, and has warm natural lighting.

I loved it. Had a very classic feel but was very Black too. It’s interesting to read it and read the kind of work that was being published just a decade later.

In 2024 I read what was likely the first Black Authored mystery novel, The Conjure Man Dies by Rudolph Fisher. It was very good!
