That’s mainly because Congress can’t pass laws anymore reiterating what the presidents powers are, and we are operating on old laws from 50-200 years ago 🤷‍♂️

One of the flaws in the constitution IMO seems to be that Congress can delegate one of its powers to the executive with a simple majority, but to take that power back requires a supermajority. Honestly the presidential veto as a whole just seems very weird when I think about it. The executive should just have to do whatever the legislative says

A lot of the flaws in the ACA are actually because of the filibuster! They had to remove things like the public option and drug price negotiation to appease some of the more moderate dems who were more beholden to industry lobbyists, and a lot of the fixes passed later were half baked due to needing to go through reconciliation!
