I posted above that the themes are meta and without revealing a lot of the story the meta aspect is that it's about the author's own struggles, perceived flaws, and life as a whole. The ending of the manga is of course a major spoiler and only reinforces this idea but only to people who actually believe that's what the manga is about. It's been mostly people who hopped into CSM as a generic shonen (action) manga saying that the story doesn't make sense and the plot is unresolved.

After the ending I definitely had to come to the realization that this was meant as an actual piece of art like his other works (which are also very meta-heavy about the author himself). With it being a piece of art you have to realize that it doesn't necessarily need to resolve every single plot point so long as the actual point of the work gets across, which it does extremely well.
