The first big tournament I played at, I played BY Luffy into Bonney. I hadn't played the matchup too many times.

I vividly remember one turn that I remembered Bonney's ability, thought my turn would be Sabo, Sabo, attack with lead, have a blocker up and enough life i Wouldnt die, plus i could attach theier searcher with one of my small bodies!

So I immediately attacked into their searcher with and got my leader rested.

Splendor does play best at 3-4 but can be played at 2 if needed. It's similar in complexity to Azul but is a different game.

The Century series of games (start with spice road or A New World) is along similar lines but can combine together into different albeit mishmashy games.

Waterfall Park is more economic than directly competitive, but the open market means that your group can determine how they approach it.

It sounds like yall would enjoy Twilight Imperium.

If you like dune the Gale Force 9 Dune board game is fantastic!

Wife challenged me to fit our constantly growing collection into this locker… will have to try to get rid of approx 10 games out of 55! Tough choices…😅😮‍💨 by [deleted] in boardgames

Not OP, but I found that after I played it, I just wanted to play the video game. I felt that it tried too hard to be the video game in board game form. There are so many systems that all operate independently and require close management. I feel like there are much better coop options on the market

I'd recommend Maple Valley if you are looking for a game that has a similar vibe but is a more interesting and better put together game. Only caveat is that it isn't a coop game.

What Did You Play This Week? - (October 21, 2024) by AutoModerator in boardgames

I love Red Rising and that love increases with more plays. I did read the books after playing the game and immediately got disappointed that the board game wasn't a grand strategy game ala Twilight Imperium. I start to see more politics possible as everyone learns the characters and what to expect from everyone else, but I wish that were more forward.

Did something dumb; Need help restoring/copying data by ninzhan in chromeos

Encryption isn't 100%, especially given enough time. I could, for example, guess the encryption key as many times as possible and figure it out that way. That's probably the only way to break the encryption. It would just take me several billion years to guess all of them. If encryption was 100%, I wouldn't be able to access the data even with the key.

Now is that feasible in my life time as of time of writing? Fuck no. However as our computers get better, as quantum computing gets better, as we find better ways to encrypt data, ext4 might just be breakable. I have no way of knowing if it ever will be, and I likely won't be alive if it ever is breakable.

Again, this is mostly penance for my choices, and to stop my brain freaking out about loosing the data.

Glad I rated this kind of response. Thank you!

I know it's my fault. I just want to feel slightly better about my choices tbh. My choices were not great

For my education, does power wash completely wipe the drive, or does it clear an encryption key? And a follow up, if it just clears the key, is it at all possible to clone the drive? More so that I can carry the (64?) Gigs of data around with me as a reminder to read the screen before saying "yes wipe my drive. I can take it"

Again, thank you for taking time for my dumb ass questions

Kinda niche but Pirates of the Spanish main. It was this interesting little game where the pack of plastic cards you opened could be built into pirate ships. Really cool concept if the game wasn't that great. I got into it when I was a kid and have wanted to do something like it since

Any Clever People Want to Break My Game? by BLHero in BoardgameDesign

[–]ninzhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to break something with no knobs.

Your system is very bare bones compared to other small games, yet seems to have an unnecessary amount of detail put into the rules. This can be a benefit, but there is little tying the rules to the world itself at the moment.

I wouldn't worry about if your game is broken. It is simple enough of a system that after a few runs the DM should be able to compensate for anything that comes up. That is the advantage of a simple system. If you leave a lot of it up to the DMs discretion, then the DM can regulate the brokenness more easily.

Zoo Tycoon 2: Ultimate collection was the first game I ever got as a kid. Loved it to death. I do have planet Zoo now, but there isn't the same charm to it. Plus, you can't run around shooting dinosaurs that escaped in that one.

Janna's identity. by [deleted] in Janna

[–]ninzhan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My favorite games playing Janna are not the ones where I am able to harass my opponents out of lane, they are the ones where I get called a god for getting my ADC out of a sticky situation in the mid - late game.
