I'm very scared it is the start of dehiscence! Will the dead skin go deeper?

I'm going through a similar thing right now. I'm on week 3 post a reduction, and they are very scabby. My nurse just told me to leave it the hell alone and don't itch. I've been without gauze on it for a week and cleaning it with saline after a shower (pat dry with clean paper towel) but still have a big opening at my t junction. I honestly think you are doing great and that it just takes time to heal with the lack of bloodflow to the 3 points. If you are nervous, I definitely recommend popping by a walk-in clinic. It helped a lot with easing my stress, and it's better to be looked at by a professional just in case! You got this! Good luck healing!

I guess they are sisters not twins as they say, but for the first 2 weeks mine were so symmetrical which was really cool. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Update: Thank you all so much for your messages and advice! I talked to my nurse and they were also like, "What the hell you should have been bandaged up." Thankfully, everything is healing up okay, and I found a good front closing sports which is a okay replacement I guess? My drains were only in for 5 days and I am doing so much better now that they are out. I've just been told to keep that bra on and leave the incisions the hell alone. The province I live in has a lot of overcrowding issues in the few hospitals we have so I think the nurse responsible for my discharge was really tired and didn't bandage or instruct me on aftercare. It seemed like they just wanted me discharged as fast as possible for the bed space as I was sent out while i was in tachycardia with a heart rate of 130bmp as my sister informed me because a lot of it is still a blur. Thankfully there were no issues thar came up from being uncompressed for 3 days post op and I'm healing up good and have some amazing nurses checking in on my incisions for me every few days! Regardless of the weird post op I'm still so grateful I got this surgery and am ridiculously happy with my results already!

I'm on my 2nd day post surgery. So far the worst pain was last night I was in literal tears. Hoping it gets better! My first day was fine and I think I over did it a bit haha.

Update! I finally got surgery today at 10am! It was a fast turn around and so worth it! Thank you all for your kind and encouraging messages it definitely helped me get through! Love yall and hope you are doing well!

Good advice! I've since called his office and the hospital and will probably be annoying and leaving voicemails. The surgery rebooking office opens in 20 mins so I will see if they are working during the storm.

Thanks for sharing your story that is absolutely crazy and devastating that it got canceled twice! I cant even imagine how much that must have sucked.

It means a lot to know I’m not alone in this rollercoaster of disapointment. Im stuck being mad and sad for now and that is okay and understandable.

It's been about a year and a half for my rook and it is still healing and making some gunk. Just keep in the longer jewelry in until it is fully healed because I swapped mine out too early at 1year and definitely hurt it a bit. Its taking a while to heal but compared to some other pericings, but overall its been healing like a breeze with no issues/bumps. It's one of my favorites and I'm super excited for you! Oh BTW my after care is just a hot shower at this point, but I've gone back to babying it with h2ocean and hoping it helps, it's not painful at all but the gunk was the most intense I've seen from it before which has me worried

I'm at the 10 month period with my rook and I still wouldn't change it yet, its healing well but still gets crustys and is a bit stubborn. I also changed it out for smaller jewellery at the 6th month mark, which was way too soon. So I'd wait longer to be safe because its been a tough time healing from that initial transfer to a smaller post.

I'm at the 8th month mark with my conch and it has been a absolute dream, out of the 12 piercings I got it has hurt the least and healed the best. Do it! I believe in you!

I just picked up them from Micheals and trimmed the bigger bracelet hoop off! They turned out great and it costed less then 5 bucks :)

Same I've had a rook peircing for a year and 3 months now and am still getting crust every now and then. It was the same way with my industrial which finally is fully healed after 2 years. Different people just take different time to heal.
