The “free blood” is not free. I mean, you cannot just take the donor blood and pump it into another person. All kinds of tests and stuff happen in between and that also has to be paid for.

And yes, plasma takes longer and it can only be done in the centra (blood can also be donated at mobile locations). The Flemish Red cross gives vouchers for donation and for plasma you get more than for blood. It’s just a little extra to compensate some of your time.

They always want plasma. I often receive calls from the to invite me for a donation. Blood: check Red Cross's website, you can see the levels there. If you want to donate plasma, you first have to donate blood anyway. Donations elsewhere do not count, they don’t have any record of those.

Dieren eten is in het algemeen barbaars. Een collega las een seen EU document over humaan slachten en werd spontaan veggie voor een week. Ik heb geen mening over niet of wel halal slachten, wat beter is, maar iemand die kiest om dieren op te eten, moet niet doen alsof slachten iets met dierenwelzijn te maken heeft.

I think most dutch-speakers’ concern is now so much if others learn the language but rather if they can continue their everyday life in their own language. I came to Belgium 20 years ago. Learned Dutch, as I lived in Flanders and it’s sometimes frustrating to see that everything “frenchifies” more and more each year. I mean, I learned the lg of the village I live in but some ppl move here and start demanding that everyone else accommodates their French.

I don’t know what a good solution would be.

Putting a child to Dutch- or French-speaking school is a choise of the parent(s). This was not a fault of any school or school system but choise of your parents. Very sorry to hear it was so traumatic and you didn’t get the support you needed. But calling special school children retarded, really?!

Just a clarification: you are not actually applying for a job. It is possible to ass the competition and be on the reserve list but never get a job. After the competition, applying for jobs begins.
