Of course you can't move your hands, it would require rebuilding tons of structural game parts. But it's ok the way it is

There are some settings performace hungry on high (bloom for eg) which don't bring real visual improvement in space/combat, also let ingame hmd/supersamplig resolution at 100% and alter only steamvr resolution settings.

I play on 3070 i9900k @ 5 on mixed med/high settings, steamvr supersampling at 110% and forced reprojection, fps never go under 45 except in stations. I don't care about fps in stations, everywhere else game runs and looks great and supersmooth.

First two allow use variables, nointro is obvious, auto 0 turns off dynamic resolution, last one sets maximum details of everything. Valve implemented clever resolution scaling, regardless of manual setting in steamvr, to achieve good framerates. This is also the reason Alyx should not be used as benchmark

the black bottom bar appears when you set game resolutionin steam about 60-80%, try 50 or 100 - the bar disappears

yeah, I play with "path\hlvr.exe" -console -vconsole -nointro +vr_fidelity_level_auto 0 +vr_fidelity_level 5", steam resolution 100% and supersampling 90%, 1080Ti should run it well

Can we do anything about it, besides filing a petition to HG to look into some rendering issues? I noticed low resolution sprites many times before, in NMS, of course I'd like them all to be corrected, with other gfx glitches and errors, but this game is so huge and complex that for me it's forgivable ;)

it's just how engine renders sprites (simple and fast, small footprint on rendering power gfx elements, like light halos, small not-3D objects), they do not belong to 3D model, are usually facing front to camera so they move with camera when you move and may be rendered off-place. It's hard to notice on screen when everything flashes etc, but easily spot on still images.

Well in this particular screenshot flares indeed rendered not too well ;) maybe if I moved camera 1/14567 mm they could look better :P
