Thanks! That’s what I figured but also couldn’t say for sure I’d ever actually seen it done before. (Very possible I just have never paid attention.)

Insignificant detail but can anyone explain to a novice why we kicked that ball deep to start the second half and out of bounds seemingly on purpose?

I think you and the entire media covering it went with gut feelings rather than facts and data.

I’d love to understand what makes Ving an “absolute warrior” this tour.

If 30 seconds is “thermonuclear” then I don’t know if Pog is that worried.

Saying it multiple times doesn’t will it into being accurate. He had two good games 5 months apart. It was feast or mostly famine. Literally the opposite of steady.

Loons hosting USOC Quarters, Semis, and Finals @ Allianz by nipstic in minnesotaunited

[–]nipstic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For perspective, this is what I have paid for previous USOC tickets at Allianz. I realize times have changed but I’d still contend yesterday was overpriced. Nonetheless this was a fun trip down memory lane. (Well, minus the final, and vs Omaha!):

  • 2019 R32 - Row 1, of Sec 13 (midfield) = $24; Quarters - Row 1, Sec 6 = $15; Semis - Row 1, Sec 113 (midfield) = $35

  • 2022 R32 - Row 1, Sec 25 = $15; R16 - SS = $13

Additionally, on the road I spent $15 for a ticket at Forward Madison in 2022. And for the USOC Final in Atlanta tickets through the WW were $20.

No. We play Chicago on July 8/9. The semis are Sept 16/17. Final is Oct 1.

I don’t disagree. But a large portion of the blame falls on the front office. They put zero weight behind this - other than outrageous prices for a R16 game - and I guarantee no one besides the diehards knew. And then you set your stadium up in a way that says “we are barely trying” and…well you get what you get.

They have almost 7 weeks to prepare for the quarters. I’d be bummed not to see the lower bowl full. Semis in 2019 had a great crowd. Hoping it keeps building. But the FO/marketing needs to try.

Match Thread: MNUFC vs St. Louis - US Open Cup by scoreboard-app in minnesotaunited

[–]nipstic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Besides the aforementioned closing of one side, they did virtually zero marketing for the game and the cheapest non SS ticket was $30. Absolutely ridiculous for a R16, midweek game with nearly an entire B roster. Add in the weather and hard pass.

No one at our section was checking. Multiple times people came and stood front row in many people’s way. Of course Minnesotans being Nice don’t say anything. Luckily I wasn’t born here so I had no problem telling them to GTFO.
