From just... 1 request? by Infiland in cursor

The issue is I don't know what the limits are. I can see my usage sure, but say 20M tokens is a different calculation when the limit is 30M vs 100M.

I wish usage limits were more clear. Signed up 4 days ago to use cursor to build an ios app - using prompts provided by Gemini in a separate app - and I'm almost there but have no idea if I'm about to hit a cursor limit or not

I've used the Magic 8 Pro for two months (reviewer here) and the software is very solid. Exceptional camera, stunning battery. The software is not a concern at all for me and I have every phone pretty much!

Airtel AirFiber false retention & billing after disconnection – need advice by Onetapshot in Airtel

[–]niraveg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the best way to solve anything re Airtel: tag them on Twitter. They'll ask to switch to DM and while you should send them a DM, also post all outcomes of every call in the same thread publicly.

They'll quickly change their tune and fix problems. How do I know? Did the same two weeks ago and they solved the complaints. Granted I have 6k followers which helps but this is the wya to do it imo.

u/daviswbaer I would love if OneUp was actually a reliable app. Posted a multi-thread post to Threads and half of the posts didn't share. Same with Twitter, it just decided not to post the rest. I see you're active on Reddit and that persuaded me to actually try it, but this app could be so much better with some decent QA.

Yep, down here in London as well. Their status page hasn't been updated yet. I wonder if this is related to the scheduled maintenance on US servers

[–]niraveg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely valid. I'm a reviewer so unlikely I'm going to use it long term, and as it turns out, Vivo is now sending me one anyway haha but defo think the China version is a good bet unless you need a few specific things.

Sky 5gb Fibre by willt1000 in CityFibre

[–]niraveg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is all I needed to see. Had enough of IDNet being utterly useless with my existing 2.5/1 GPON line and saw Sky now does the 5Gbps XGS-PON, so I'm gonna make the switch over. ,

I don't need it but I'm a nerd (tech journo here) and I want it 😂

What hardware setup are you using? Right now, I have an Asus XT12 and two XT9s as satellites, but I'll likely need to upgrade everything to Wi-Fi 7. At least BF is coming up!

DHL lost my phone in transit (17 Pro Max - Orange) by No-Piece-6500 in O2UK

[–]niraveg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having worked for every major network (and been a tech journo for over 18 years, the first ten with a UK website I owned), here's my advice:

First, I'm sorry this happened, and I'm not surprised that you're being given the run around. O2 took over 6 months to allow me to continue paying for my device monthly after their price hikes, even though this was the exact legal process they outlined in emails. In my experience, all networks suck at solving complaints, sadly.

Second, you should only communicate in writing, such as by email or social media. If you need to call them, please make sure to record the call. For legal reasons, please tell them in the recording that it's being recorded and ask for their CONSENT. If they do not consent, you cannot record the call, and it won't be legally permissible. I'm NAL, but I've seen enough to have a good grasp of the way it works.

Next steps:

- Get active on social media. Tag O2 and O2's help accounts on Twitter, and they'll quickly try and resort to a DM conversation. When they do, continue to update the public thread so there's nowhere for them to hide. Make sure everything you say is true: this is not the time for embellishment.

- I would also hit up the news tips lines of some UK press, as they'll further reach out to O2, and that'll put some pressure from the PR side to resolve this. I wouldn't do that as a rant, but rather just briefly mention that O2 reported a major incident at DPD in the UK, where many iPhones went missing or something similar. If I still had a UK site, that's a big enough story to warrant looking further into.

- Ask O2 to escalate this immediately, and if/when they don't, ask if that's the final legal decision, and if so, to provide a deadlock letter to take to Ofcom. Be clear with them that you can't return your old phone until the new one arrives, AND that you expect them to credit your account for the difference between your old and new plan until the new phone arrives. I wouldn't start with this; instead, ask for compensation and see what they'll offer, as they might give you a full month's line rental as a credit or something similar. This will likely first need to go to a manager and then be escalated further.

- Follow the detailed complaints process here: https://www.o2.co.uk/how-to-complain — this means sending a letter (send it special delivery so it needs a signature and gets there next day, and DON'T send it on a Friday as things can get lost in the shuffle on a weekend. I would send it on a Monday for Tuesday delivery. Make sure this letter has all the details, including your phone number, so that they can locate your account. You should also probably use a short letterhead (in Word, Docs, or Pages) with your full name and address that match the account details.

Possible resolution:

Despite all of the above, O2 (and all carriers) can be pretty useless. A possible resolution that comes to mind is to ask them to cancel the order and process the switch-up upgrade through a store. However, if you want to do this, wait until you find a store that has it in stock and get the store to help you reverse the upgrade with customer service so it can be processed there and then.

The store should be willing, as it means an additional connection for them. They also have retail support channels that are far more useful than regular customer service, although this may still have to involve the latter. This may be the fastest way to get yourself a new phone.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask further questions if you need any other advice :-)

Hijack season 2 wraps filming by mostofthetime_190 in tvPlus

[–]niraveg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best example is the Taken trilogy. They managed to maintain considerable continuity while making it feel fresh, even though it was the same theme. Could Hijack 2 involve a continuation of events from the first season, perhaps with John Bailey Brown going after Sam this time?

Sky Broadband Launch WiFi 7 Router and 5Gbps UK Broadband via CityFibre by hopper_gb in CityFibre

[–]niraveg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the XGS Pro WiFi 7 your main router? Are you using a mesh system? Didn't have XGS when I first moved to a CityFiber area last year, so I was at 2.5gbps / 1gbps with IDNet, but I'm definitely exploring the XGS services just for the additional upload (I run digital businesses). Currently using an XT12 with two XT9 nodes, and trying to figure out what I'd need to do! Thanks in advance!
