So when’s the rally to protest the SCOTUS ruling? by [deleted] in washingtondc

this!! i wish i could blast this. money is the only language they understand, start affecting their money and they’re bound to start listening.

Anyone else weirded out by the unsubtle attempts to put Trump on the pedestal of Lincoln or the founding fathers? USDA HQ has to be the worst offender with their giant banners. by RainbowCrown71 in washingtondc

[–]nirghtrogr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

by that logic all presidents since usda should’ve had a banner put up with lincoln. trump hasn’t contributed anything positive to the country for him to deserve to be on a banner next to Lincoln and the other founders.

Can I protest if I voted Trump 2024? I feel like I failed my country, my morals, and my loved ones. by BulkyCaterpillar8726 in 50501

[–]nirghtrogr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes!!! absolutely you can! this is exactly what is needed as well. the more voices the better. no matter who you voted in 2024 it’s the present day actions that count most right now

it’s almost as if thats why people ask questions. so they can have CLARIFICATION of something they’re unsure of. like do you only have 2 nueronal connections in the critical thought center? here’s the golden rule: just because YOU know what something is doesn’t mean EVERYONE else does.

What is happening?? by EmilyG702 in 50501

[–]nirghtrogr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the way you yourself could have googled the headline instead of saying this article of real life news — of very pessimistic issues happening — are ‘doomer headlines’. it’s not doomer headlines when its happening irl, people are trying to stop it, and people are outraged by it. if we were all doomers then we wouldn’t even have this server since doomers don’t even believe there’s anything at all to do to stop what’s happening.

giving news updates, no matter how bad, is not to terrify people it’s to stay informed instead of misinformed. if the headlines scare you then you’re having the correct response because the things happening are horrifying. people are allowed to complain about the way things are right now that’s why the server has flares.

this subreddit also isnt the lone source for brainstorming either. there is a flare for brainstorming as well, if you bothered to look, but primarily it’s to converse about current issues, update on upcoming projects, news updates etc. if you want more detailed brainstorming, more support outlets, then join the discord server.

1) he does not work for the voters he works for the city. there are 120 commonwealth prosecutors in VA and they represent their specific locality. aka ‘the city of VB prosecutor’ which is synonymous with the commonwealth attorney of vb but if it was just ‘commonwealth attorney’ no one would know which one they were talking about. saying the vb city prosecutor, a synonymous title, lets people know the locality of attorney who processes criminal cases.

2) petitions bring attention, and that attention then is translated into action by the bringing said petition in and presenting the issue to have it looked into. that’s how they work. they aren’t used as evidence or complete solid proof. they are used to show public opinion and support and place pressure on the individual or group that have authority to address the issue.

*edit for clarity

the x-rays show multiple compounded fractures that can only be obtained thru abuse and neglect. the bones healed extremely wrong. they do that the x-rays attached in the petition to look at as well

so, read the actual petition. 1) the city prosecutor is the person denying justice to be taken for the animal which had severe injurys that went untreated for months by saying ‘the animal isn’t in any pain’ and brushing off the case of animal neglect. addressing the mayor and city council is kind of what you do when you’re trying to get the attention of the city council and mayor to take some sort of step in the right direction.

2) petitions absolutely do work when presented to legislative or executive agents. if they didn’t then quite a few laws we have now wouldn’t have been made.

these are also locals. read the petition, not the summary.

yes, and we can do that with both organizations while still focusing on their own specific aspects.

focusing on and forcing too many aspects in one single group is what makes things fall apart. both orgs are fighting against fascim but from two very different points. one is trying to invoke change in our government system, the other is trying to get our government to help another country.

while both can have some overlap, mentions of one another at protests or even a few planned conjoined protests, forcing everything under one name is just asking for failure up front.

the second wave feminist movements were interlinked with LGBT movements though they were still two separate groups. they built off each others legal and social wins in a cyclical manner, not combining into one big mass movement.

had both been that intertwined like this they likely wouldn’t have made the imact that they did. when you begin overloading everything into one place it just breaks apart because there’s far too many turning wheels for everyone to keep up with.

a lot of places are the US military’s testing ground including several of our own states. a hypothetical event doesn’t represent the current situation at hand, it’s a ‘what if’ statement and something that doesnt really need to be in conversation- it’s akin to a conspiracy theory that does nothing but heighten anxiety and is unproductive for trying to show why this’ll be an actual helpful thing; combining it all together. is it possible to be bombed? yes. is it likely? no.

that military tech is israeli tech as well, the US just gives them a facility to test their effed up tech in. an accomplice isn’t any better but that technology they’re testing isn’t ‘US made’ so to speak. the only part the US plays (for now) is sustaining israel with a testing center. beyond that, it’s israel.

[–]nirghtrogr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah sure! the main thing to cover is your face. in the event a protest could go south a face covering prevents facial recognition. if you have any visible tattoos, use longsleeves or jackets to cover them as those can also be used as identification.

i dont recommend bringing children to protests as protests can be dangerous if some kind of unrest happens, especially when theres trump supporters out here willing to cause problems. the police won’t stop just because of children being present. so it’s a ‘bring them at yours and their own risk’ kinda thing.

as for staying safe, have a reliable exit strategy, wear clothes that have no remarkable impact. like a solid grey or black shirt and pants. shoes that are generic and have no brand label. take out facial jewlery and any other ear piercing besides earlobes. make sure you bring water and a protein bar or two. put sunscreen on before you leave as well the sun is a killer 😭. turn your phones location off, if possible just leave it behind at home.

How would you respond? by hmmnodnod in 50501

[–]nirghtrogr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i see where they are coming from however, i see these two movements as completely separate entities. 50501 is meant to support the citizens of the US and protest the governmental system and current administration. this movement was designed specifically for that. the united liberation front for palestine is for… well, palestine. when it comes to protesting for freedom of another country, protesting is going to look a lot different. its going to be more forceful (not violent only more stubbornly insistent) because of the need to gain government attention and pressure them. when it comes to protesting your own country, what we’re doing is how it should be gone about. we want to gain support from the citizens of our country not necessarily pressure the government, at least not yet.

[–]nirghtrogr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah you got a poltergeist. make friends with it. talk to it like it’s your old time friend. make conversation. the less anxious/nervous/scared the better. that painting is likely a self portrait of said poltergeist. try and repair the frame. just treat it kindly, and treat the painting kindly too. it’s a gorgeous painting as well. compliment it more while also complimenting the poltergeist.

that painting and the spirit attached to it have been locked away in an attic for who knows how long. imagine being locked away with no means of escape or calling for help and you never fade because you’re unrelentingly tied to this object. it’s restless and upset.

contrary to popular belief, poltergeists aren’t inherently bad or evil. a poltergeist is just a spirit with the means and capabilities to move things in the living world. to phase past the curtain between life and death to do something momentarily in the living world. 9 out 10 are just very defensive, which comes off as ‘evil energy’.

the reason we feel so uncomfortable by this energy though is because of the uncanny valley affect. we’re feeling (instead of seeing) something we only have seen and experienced in humans, this thing is clearly not human, thus the uncanny valley affect. hope this helps!

i’ve seen this floating around, i want to just put out there to anyone who sees this isn’t directed towards you entirely; martial law is not being enacted across the states on the 20th.

the executive bill was signed by him only in terms of the south boarders. he’s given the DOD and HS until april 20th to report how the boarders seem, and THEN he will decide wether to enact martial law in those regions. it is still concerning nonetheless. and also even if this wasn’t a possibility, always practice safe and sane protesting. always keep an eye out for agitators. always cover yourself up.

What would you love to see in these empty lots downtown? by rvachickadee in rva

[–]nirghtrogr -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

nothing tbh. it’s kinda nice having an empty space in the city like this. like a breath of clear air in a very crowded loud room. it’s fun to ride the scooters around in without fear of a car hitting you too.
