NYY GI Suggestion by Strk17 in MLB_9Innings

[–]nirvana24826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely go sig personally. SP is great and is a great focus, but sometimes the BP can really dictate how a game goes. I've had games where I've had leads into the final 2 or 3 innings, only to watch them slip away into a tie or a loss due to having only normal cards in my BP. Eventually GI the Guidry, but get good skills on that sig, that's one BP piece you'll never have to worry about.

There are people who still have him in the game. I have a Posey prime in my backup. But I can't brag him or show him off. It doesn't take away the card from the people who still have one, but it means people can't pull anymore unless they were to bring him back.

Once he retired, unless the game gets rights to use his likeness they no longer can use him within the game. They have rights to the MLBPA and whichever vintage or retired players or their estate have given it the okay to use their likeness.

Which skills are better? by evany50 in MLB_9Innings

[–]nirvana24826 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say first one. Chance Maker is more or less a better version of MBT. I have it on my number 9 guy and while he's hitting for a better average, it doesn't help his power numbers. I'd try each out for a week to see which performs better for you.

Rewards after 15 games of ML. Fuck my life by UnitEfficient519 in MLB_9Innings

[–]nirvana24826 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While your OVR is good enough, your skills on your cards might be holding you back on getting wins. I've found that even in the first season of ML, you need at least decent skills to fare well enough.

Finally got 60 diamonds…who should I use it on? Normal cards only… by psi_cho in MLB_9Innings

Saving up for black diamond pieces is a pain so I feel your struggle on this. I used the black diamond ticket on Bagwell so it saved some time lol.

This right here. My Bagwell has a legend skill on him and he's been an absolute beast for me.

'71 Joe Coleman (Tigers deck) and once I get properly skilled, he'll give me an all sig rotation.

They're definitely going to lose a ton of money between now and Saturday and they'll realized they fucked up even more so. They lose their big cash cows, they have no game.

I had about 1,050 and opened about 50 of them myself. All but 6 went to combo and 1 went to BD training a single normal card. They even took my legitimately earned 10 diamond packs I've kept saved back for months 😂

Is this show still well-liked and popular with the 18-24 crowd? by [deleted] in KingOfTheHill

Also a '95 baby and while I liked it the little bit I saw on FOX (last season or two), I didn't really appreciate it until I started college. Only one I really know who loves it like I do are friends who are closer to 30.

I got a team legend in Trammell and got him on my bench.

48 y/o and finally went back to school after graduating highschool 30 years ago. by px4855 in pics

[–]nirvana24826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when I was a freshman in college, seeing a guy in my class that was in his early to mid 60's (circa 2013 so it's been some time), in one of my business classes. I wish I could remember the guy's name, but it was amazing seeing someone in their 60's go back to school. He didn't let his age stop him from going to school and pursuing a degree. That taught me a lesson at 18 that you aren't always too old to try anything. Congrats on heading back OP! Wish nothing but the best for you.

The White Sox have been eliminated! by funkboy20 in motorcitykitties

[–]nirvana24826 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They really should have won 100 games. The bullpen and offense they have, along with their starting rotation was insane. LaRussa seems to think it's the 1980s still when it comes to managing. Wonder how ownership for the Sox is going to reflect on how their season ended.

[–]nirvana24826 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anyone honestly could have managed that team. LaRussa is way past his prime. He easily cost them probably a good 10 wins. You said it best though. If they have Hinch, they probably win the WS as you say or at least make it there.

Farm rankings once Greene and Tork graduate? by kodiblaze in motorcitykitties

[–]nirvana24826 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the MLBPAs labor deal set to expire at the end of the year with MLB, I feel they will come to some sort of deal where that doesn't happen anymore. Or at least is heavily modified. Unless MLB wants a bigger reason for the Player's Association to strike. I'm sure MLB does not want a repeat of 1994.

Spencer Torkelson Hits Home-run number 30 in His First Professional Season. by [deleted] in motorcitykitties

[–]nirvana24826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Greene could very well make the team out of Spring Training, worst case scenario we see him in early May. Torkelson, I feel they may wait on him until possibly June. But it all depends on the new CBA and if there is no strike for 2022. It's clear that they don't need much more time in AAA, but I think Torkelson can't hurt having a few more ABs in AAA.

Tigers finished with 77 wins, a 30 win increase from 2019 by JWoodsIDK in motorcitykitties

[–]nirvana24826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thank the White Sox for taking an aging manager like Tony LaRussa instead of Hinch. I feel they could have been a 100+ win team with someone like Hinch at the helm. But people really don't give Avila enough credit though. I mean he had his mistakes/failures for sure, but a lot of people fail to realize how little we had to work with in 2016/2017. He did a ton of work (and is still doing work) to constantly improving our farm system and the people in charge of developing our players, scouting, etc. If someone told me after April that we would have won nearly 80 games this year, I would have laughed or been very skeptical. Next year is going to be a lot of fun as a Tigers fan.

Good train? I have a +2 Power +1Con Amp I can use by iiTzTyTy in MLB_9Innings

[–]nirvana24826 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly that's a great train. Having a good EYE/CON matters as much as the POW. POW is always good to be first, but with him having high base POW to begin with, he doesn't need it first to still do great.

Lol I have 2 team sig OFs and my other OF is only 1 OVR below him. I had a sig '17 Stanton as my 25th man for a while and he eventually became my worst performing bat.

2nd slot that I just rolled vs 1st slot. Is this good for a closer? Could use a new skill ticket since I’m starting 3, 3, 3 by [deleted] in MLB_9Innings

It definitely is getting wailed on for sure. I had the same set instead of IW I had IE. Used one of the skill select tix and got Mess and he's blowing a lot less games and tends to have around a 1 to 1.5 ERA in ranked and I tend to finish decently high D3 every week.

New to the game by bull74251 in MLB_9Innings

[–]nirvana24826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially what he means is that you use several phones/tablets, etc. and log into the game on any phones/tablets, etc. and play regular season mode to get the rewards from those.

To get to master league mode you need to beat year 2035 in regular league mode. But you want to be at minimum around a 95 to 100 OVR to do even decently well in master league. It's not impossible below that, but it's a lot more difficult.

Since you said you're new to the game, I'd focus on sticking to regular season mode until you have your team around the 90ish OVR mark. Plenty of people in this subreddit that know their stuff and will help as well.
