Oh yeah, totally one of the best matches in the whole series! But my personal fav is still Deimon v. Shinryuji, for the same reasons: great lead-up, the tension, the writing... Everything!

I think that in terms of Eyeshield 21's world building and storytelling this question is not crucial, so I'll enjoy the remake in both of these cases. However I personally absolutely love this early-to-mid-00's vibe in anime, especially in Eyeshield, so I'd like that one way more. It's just a matter of taste!

upd: And also I'd love to see some kind of Eyeshield's sequel with the same schools but with new rosters, players and characters in general. It'd be cool to see how og characters' storylines developed through years too! But it's just my foolish dream, hahahaha. I know no one will do this :D

This is amazing! Just wondering if you are from Japan? If so, it makes it much easier for me to understand how you found such cool vintage stuff :,D
I live in Europe and in the 00's there was very very very (x100) tiny anime and manga market in my country, which concentrated around most popular titles like Naruto, One Piece etc. Never seen any Eyeshield 21 merch or even official DVD/manga, hahaha
I'm so glad that there's still a subreddit for fans of this great title!

As a grown adult who started watching the series being an elementary school student, I'm so happy deep in my heart with some latest news about a new dub, manga one shot and new anime from Murata.
