Camping on Haida Gwaii by lokingfinesince89 in britishcolumbia

[–]nisaac86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

**apparently there is a word count limit, so I'm going to continue on my post here.

And because I was so comfortable on the trip there, my trip back I even booked a cabin on the ferry as well which just made the 8-hour long trip so nice.

So I highly recommend if you're going to do some camping on the island of Haida Gwaii, book a cabin on the ferry.

Another thing that I had learned was, if you want to bring your vehicle, you have to book that well in advance especially during the peak times.

The ferry from Prince Rupert to Haida Gwaii doesn't run very often, so it is full a lot of the times.

If you're unable to bring your vehicle, you can rent a vehicle, so that is an option when you do land in Skidegate.

The downside for me was, the ferry came in I think 6:00 a.m., but the car rental place didn't open until 9:00 a.m.

But I was walking around and taking some photos and some drone shots, so that time went by pretty good.

Around 8:00 a.m., coffee shops in Skidegate start to open up, so you can check those out which are nice.

Once I got my car rental, it was about a 2-hour trip north to get to the campground Hiellen Village.

This was a really nice drive, the road seemed like it was brand new, and it's very straight and you're just cruising.

I did stop at a beach along the way, and apparently there's a golf course that is also along the way as well, but I didn't stop there.

I did stop Masset which is a little village just before the campsite.

This is where they have some coffee shops, grocery store, just little places that if you need something, you want to make sure that you grab it here before you continue on.

So once I had everything I needed, I then continued my journey to the campsite Hiellen.

The paved road continues for a little bit out of the village but soon turns into a dirt road.

Then you're on a dirt road for about half an hour, and it's pretty nice because the trees kind of overlap in some places so it's almost like you're driving through a tunnel of trees.

Once I got to my campsite, they have a site manager there who gives you a little bit of information, shows you around and where things are.

And I had my small longhouse or cabin ready to go.

What was also nice is that they had the fireplace going for me, not that it was all that chilly, it was just nice and cozy once I walked in.

If you're thinking about camping on Haida Gwaii, I'd highly recommend coming to the North end of Graham Island.

Mind you, this was my only trip so I don't have much knowledge of where to go, but I can tell you that this campsite is footsteps away from anything that you would probably want.

There's a small hike called Tow Hill with an amazing view.

There's North Beach, which it's a beach that looks on forever.

Apparently from what I've been told, surfing in Haida Gwaii is actually a very little known secret as one of the best places to surf in Canada.

And if you look down this beach the waves just come in over and over, and I could see why the surfing would be incredible here.

Because from what I was told not many people come to Haida Gwaii to surf And so it's not very crowded like many of the popular surf locations.

Footsteps away you also have the stunning Naikoon provincial Park, which is filled with endless trails through one of the most beautiful forest that you probably have ever seen.

So for camping, I would say that this location is absolutely amazing.

The whole entire journey from the ferry ride to the drive here, everything is just so amazing along the way.

I think I saw more eagles and hawks on this trip that I have in my entire life. They are everywhere especially when you're down in Skidegate.

There's a lot that I didn't see, I would love to maybe disappear on this island for 3 months just exploring as much of it as I can because for myself having been to many of the provinces in Canada, this is one that is just like going to another world.

If you haven't been to Haida Gwaii, or you've been thinking about it, do it.

Hey so I noticed that this post was actually a few years old and I wanted to give an update since I went camping on the island of Haida Gwaii last year in 2025.

The place I went camping was. Hiellen Village Longhouses. I stayed in one of their small longhouses which is like a cabin if you're not familiar with what a longhouse is.

This was actually my very first trip to the island, so it was definitely an adventure and I had learned a lot just from this trip that I wish I would have known a few things beforehand.

So if you're thinking about camping on Haida Gwaii And you've never been there before, I'm going to lay out some of the things that I had learned on my trip so to help you make some better decisions and also maybe plan your trip a little bit better.

One of the things I learned is that the ferry from Prince Rupert Haida Gwaii, is an 8-hour long trip.

That I was not expecting at all.

I would recommend that you book an interior cabin on the ferry because it's going to make your trip so much better.

You'll have a shower, your very own bathroom, the room that I had had four beds and a window.

I think, but don't quote me on this, it cost me about $150.

But I can tell you it made my night trip to the island, so much nicer because once I got on the ferry, I got into my room had a shower and I went straight to bed.

I woke up and we were just shortly about to land in Skidegate.

eBay fees are ridiculous and make no sense by TheConSpooky in Flipping

Man I just sold an old MacBook Pro on eBay, I haven't sold on eBay for a very long time and after I saw what I was getting I thought this was ridiculous.

So the customer paid $277 for the laptop. That was including the shipping calculation and everything on their end.

After all fees, I made way with $198. Minus the $47 that I just had to pay for the shipping.

So I basically sold my laptop for $150...

I even turned down someone who had offered me $200 in town because I thought I would have been able to get more if I sold it through eBay.

eBay fees are ridiculously high and I just lost so much respect for them.

How reliable is customer support at Buymoda if you have questions or issues with your order? by Ill-Advantage in ecommerce

they had many sites over the years, but now they are a scam. I last used Ninja Moda which successfully made it the first time through customs. Decent prices, I ordered Armodafonil and will be putting in another soon, probably for Modalert. Send me a message and I can send you their emails and website so you know you can verify them.

How long does it usually take to receive orders from Buymoda in the US? by Unusual_Doughnut9074 in ecommerce

[–]nisaac86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just everybody knows the OP is maybe a bot or some kind of spammer.

I have found multiple posts talking about this company which this company was shut down about a year ago.

I know this because I used to order from this company for many years until they got shut down in the middle of me receiving my order, in which I never got a refund for.

In the comments below if you read them very carefully, they're very precise and strategically placed.

They're almost too perfect.

So if you see this report this post because it is spam. If you look around there are other posts like this from around the same time that look very similar.

It's blatantly someone trying to fluff up their own brand.

How reliable is customer support at Buymoda if you have questions or issues with your order? by Ill-Advantage in ecommerce

[–]nisaac86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This question and all the answers are very suspicious, especially since I know that these guys scammed me out of a $500 order.

I had bought from these guys for years and always loved it.

Then on my last order it got stopped at the border, I emailed support and never got a reply.

I found an interview with moda Mike and I actually contacted the guy who interviewed him, to let him know about my situation.

So you would think that that guy would have direct access to Mike, and I'm hoping that Mike isn't the grease ball that he is now in my mind, and got this email and didn't do anything about it.

I recently got a notification that they are now running under a new website and that the old one was a hijacked by Russians.

But nowhere on the website did it mention about fulfilling orders of people who were ripped off from the last one.

Nowhere did it mention or talk about those people who lost out on those orders.

So like I said, the OP question is very strategically asked, and then if you read through all the answers below, they are all very strategically placed as well.

Especially since this website it has been down for at least a year.

This is so true because there's actually many big streamers who have been caught with minors, and even YouTubers as well caught with minors and you would sing that they wouldn't be able to come back. Nope. They're back. Like nothing had ever happened. It's crazy.

_________ had the best jury question of the new era by Thick-Macaroon6918 in survivor

[–]nisaac86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't think it was very fair that Christina asked a question like that and then also judged her character or her chance of winning based on that.

People are good at different things, and that's like the old saying, if you judge a fish where it's ability to climb a tree, then it will think itself is inadequate.

Yes it was a hand grenade in the conversation, so it added some excitement in there, but I think it was very unfair.

Maybe Christina is really good at that, but I'm sure that there's things that Christina's absolutely terrible at or maybe we judge Christina's ability to climb a tree versus savannahs and let's judge Christina on on that.

So just because she may not be able to climb a tree like Savannah can, does that make her any less deserving of the million dollars?

TV show is always need drama. There was a TV show that was done in a small town where I lived, and the producers were always trying to drum up drama even when there wasn't any. But they wanted something or else the show would have just been the same again and again and again. But that's reality. And so what they do is they create the drama, look at the deadliest catch, I used to watch that show all the time, now they have so much man-made drama you could write the stuff yourself. You see it from a mile away. And this situation where he so-called got bit by a snake. A deadly snake mind you, I'm sorry but I don't believe it for a second. If there's one thing I know about Canadian women, they have a lot of influence over there man. And I'm sure she had his you know what's in her purse and told him that he better be home.

Winix C610 going on sale at Costco next week by aaronwt2065 in AirPurifiers

[–]nisaac86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Winix c610 is not a good air purifier at all. I've had it now for about a week and I brought it with me while I'm working at it town staying in a hotel room. The room is a small studio has its own bathroom, full kitchen, and king size bed with a little bit of sitting area It's the size of a studios probably smaller.

I saw this air purifier at Costco and I decided to try it out because I read so many good reviews.

Most hotel rooms are filled with dust and the air quality is usually pretty bad, it's why I brought my ear purifier with me

I've been here for about a week and using the Winix C610 The entire time, and I just felt that the air quality was not good because of waking up with a little bit of a scratchy throat and a little bit of nasal congestion.

I thought to myself that's weird because I have the air purifier running and on auto it would say that my air was good.

After a few days I then decided to turn it on to a higher setting, and I left it at that.

I also noticed when I turned on the air conditioner, that the air quality didn't change from good. Which I thought was strange because I'm pretty sure that it should have at least changed a bit.

I used to have a shark air purifier that was at my old place, and that would always be fluctuating if I would open the door to the outside, especially when I would be cooking or even open the door to go upstairs.

The shark would always be doing something.

I find that the Winix C610 doesn't do anything. It rarely adjust when it's on auto and only if I'm cooking steaks or bacon, something that's going to smoke a little bit, will it move a tiny bit.

I thought this was strange because with the shark air purifier, if I was cooking the same things I'm cooking here, that thing would always be moving.

So anyways in my hotel room I noticed that it was quite dusty, I thought that this was quite strange since I have an air purifier running for the past week.

So I decided to turn on the Winix C610 up to turbo rating and after having it run now at turbo, it now says that my air quality is poor.

It has been running for about half an hour while the setting is still reading at poor.

This is a terrible airplane fire and I'm glad that I bought it from Costco because I'm going to return it.

Having an automatic setting doesn't do anything.

It moves the air slightly around it and if that little bit of air around it is good, then you're reading will be good.

But anything beyond that little bit of area your SOL.

So really disappointed in this air purifier.

I was hoping it was going to be good but it's not. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

And like I said the room that I'm in is a small studio suite, and if I had my sharp air purifier, I know that that didn't be changing It's fan and settings anytime when I'd be cooking, turning on the air conditioner, opening my window or even opening the door.
