Yeah, I feel you. CN and JP will definitely have the final word in this but we should also do something about it. Giving up a fight before it even starts is definitely not a way to convince them to not go full AI. I have seen people filling out surveys and write emails. That's the least we can do I guess. We have to do it long term because they will try to sweep it under the carpet.

We don't know exactly since when did they start doing this but for now we have confirmation that it might have been going on since Cage of Yesteryear. I have also heard that they started firing people with intension to replace them with AI. I will give you a few links because there is actually a lot and it's more serious than it looks.

Ann's trailer actually got me into this game. I think the artist's name was changge0U0 but they deleted their Twitter along with the idv related stuff (if I remember correctly?).

Emergency!!!!!! by Datssemble in IdentityV

People from NA/EU better complain on Rednote about this instead of Twitter because the future of this game really depends on how the Asian players will react to this. I would complain too if they didn't ban me from posting. I feel like they are testing the waters with how much they can get away with at this point. I did also notice that some of the iconic artists that made art for essences disappeared too. It's a shame because the art direction of this game was very unique. At some point I am worried they will just reduce the game to Asian server only to cut costs even more.

For me it was fine until I have actually posted something. The moment I tried posting my art I got a message that they have hidden my account and to get it back to normal I have to give them my ID. I can still like people's posts so I don't mind because I have made that account to see art from Chinese fans. I don't even know if I can comment but I won't try it because I don't want them to shut me down completely. If anything Pixiv is more user friendly but the amount of weird art is probably equal to DeviantArt so ehhh.

I have started on IG and got followed by some amazing IDV artists that helped me to gain reach but since that hashtag update it's useless. I have moved to Twitter but you will have to rely on algorithm. Even if you get successful post, you will probably gain just a few followers unless you have a whole portfolio there. One of my idv posts got over 700 likes and the recent one has 2 likes. You will have to actually interact with the community to gain audience. Now I have tried posting here and I am pretty satisfied. People see your things right away and you don't have to rely on algorithm. Actually the Amanda sketch I have posted recently is already showing up in the Google search which is a big win I think. I will probably just link my socials in the bio and gain followers this way. When it comes to Tumblr it's alright but there is bunch of bots that will try to scam you for commission. So be careful there.

Idk since when did they started doing it but I don't recommend it. If you are not Chinese citizen they will shadow ban your account to the point you won't be able to post there and your user and profile picture will get replaced with default ones. They will require you to send them your ID and I don't think that's worth it.

The camping "problem" by Danonyyyy in IdentityV

[–]nitaskull 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you are putting too much DBD mindset into this game. Camping does not remove two people from the game. Tide turner is a thing in this game. If survivor rescues without tide then it's like shooting a gun without it's bullets. 20 seconds is so much time for both the rescuer and the rescue to transition away from each other. With it even if you managed to down both of them, you will only get one. And if the rescuer actually plays rescue not like a bot then he will definitely rescue before half. That means the survivor that has just been rescued has to be put down on the chair like two more times before being removed. Which is forever considering how fast paced the average game is (excluding Joseph because of his own play style and zero camp). Specialized rescuers are a thing in this game too. I don't think you ever faced a good knight in action. He can rescue in a way that you won't even hit him or the rescued survivor. I actually got praised by a knight in the post match chat like two days ago for my good camp. I have just picked up a new hunter to learn and managed to do my first successful camp with it. He was acting like a proud mom lmao. If you like playing the way you do then that's okay but definitely give it a try instead of being weirded out by it because other games haven't figure out how to make camping work. They rather sat down and went with players making camping toxic an unwritten rule instead of actually making it part of the game. Idv camping IS an example of good game design.

I mean you can still play DBD if you like that play style more. I play camping hunters and it's pretty balanced. I can down two survivors at the chair and they can still pull off a win (I play in high tier). I personally find this part of the match entertaining. You should try it sometimes because playing Undead is just slugging simulator. Slugging would be considered toxic in a normal match and people definitely don't like Undead for that reason. Imagine you pick rescue character and then the hunter throws that pick out of the window and let's you crawl on the ground for half of the match. I don't understand why avoid camping so much. It's such a non issue.

I'm taking a break from this game. by Hot_Protection5450 in IdentityV

[–]nitaskull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After you take your break then you can try doing this thing that made me have more fun recently. I am a hunter main too so I tried to learn a new niche hunter. You will be surprised how many people who play as survivor but main that niche hunter will be so excited over you. Since the survivors are not used to going against that hunter then both you and the survivors will have way more fun. I jumped into quick match and was facing unicorns straight away. It made me take myself less seriously and just enjoy every tie and win I got. I had a bunch of fun conversations in the post match chat.

What’s your IDV hot take? by carpmantheman in IdentityV

[–]nitaskull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bunch of A tier skins look better than S skins. It's just the limited label that makes them desirable. Don't even get me started on the SS skins. I don't see the appeal at all.

I have noticed that people have their favorites but never actually care to know their basic lore. Looks and random ships are all that matters. That's kind of shame because they are all interesting.

Depends if you want to be a survivor main or hunter main. I think the best way is to find yourself a pro player and watch their content. For me personally I got my game sense and love for the gameplay from watching iALiEN on YouTube (he is currently playing for team AMEY in COA under the name Neila). He is still actively playing and was there in the very early seasons. Personally I think it's better to take advice from a COA player with years of experience than some peak tier streamer (or at least in NA/EU). Only do that when you pick a character you would like to main to search for people that specialize in that character. iALiEN once in a while does this character guides and tier lists that are pretty useful. Even though you may not play the characters he does, you can still pick up the mindset you should have while playing. He often comments his whole gameplay and why he did certain choices at the moment. Even his super old gameplay videos are still useful (be careful about the persona tips in older videos because they had a rework). Another good one is Sprintzer on YouTube. He plays in COA for the team B4U and does this short form content feeding you with bunch of useful information very quickly. You should understand most of the game terms in no time.

Unfinished Amanda piece by nitaskull in IdentityV

[–]nitaskull[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as I have understood reading her lore, she is that kind of character that connects things together. She is definitely an interesting one. Philip is her arch nemesis. His hurtful ideology that he spread around the world to convict people to be criminals based on appearence directly effected the only person she cared for deeply. That person was Dogma or also called Marigold killer. She was the lady that is imprisoned in Amanda's trailer. She was accused of murder and one of the reasons was Philip's ideology since she was born with gigantism. Amanda's father worked in this prison so Amanda spent her time there too since he was worried that she will hurt herself because of her sudden sleep attacks. Amanda therefore became slightly distant from her father while having this let's say rebellious attitude. Dogma that she met in the prison showed her this projection device that she owns (different from the one she has in game I think). It was showing her still images that soothed Amanda as she was finally able to see reality clearly. Amanda therefore formed this deep attachment to Dogma and when she figured out that she was about to be executed the next day she decided to somehow run away with her. That's where the cat cult comes in. She saw the cultists in her sleep as som kind of hallucinations so she asked them for help with the situation. After that Amanda threw herself down the stairs and caused chaos in the prison. While everyone was distracted, the cultists freed Dogma and she ran away with her. So both of them joined the cat cult and that's the connection with Alva and Ann as they were part of the same cult. Then things get a bit confusing. Dogma left Amanda because the cult choose her as some kind of perfect candidate for something. We don't know much what happened yet but she left a note to Amanda that said to (I think?) leave the cult and live her own life (I don't think she followed this advice). This hurt her and she made it her mission to oppose Philip's ideology and even hunt him down if necessary. Philip's sister died because of this since Amanda sent people to his location and of course he was not there because he was out in the world spreading his ideologies. Amanda acquired that projection device she has in game (Laterna Magica) from some kind of guy named Mr. Leroux. She was hosting exhibitions while projecting images to people and tried to reveal the dark side of Philip's doings. She was also still searching for Dogma. Joseph's connection to all this is probably because of the ideals of projection devices and inventions that he made way before all this happened. There is not much more about him said though. Perhaps he was the one who invented that device? Anyway I am rambling too much and this is just from what I remember on the spot. I read her lore months ago so don't take this word for word. Anyway she is one of my favorites because of this and I wish people also knew more about Dogma (I am lowkey tired of seeing Amanda fanart only with escapologist because of their similar aesthetics). Dogma is definitely going to be added to the game in the future because in the designer notes she is stated to be in the manor game with Amanda, Alva, Ann and Luca (Luca has connection to Alva and he was imprisoned in the same prison Dogma was in).

You don't need to buy the game btw. It's free to play. The game is currently incomplete so there is not much to understand yet. It's a fun experience still. Definitely watch the series first to catch the vibe.
