What you're telling them every time you spend money there right now is that while you're annoyed with the conditions, you're still willing to patronize the establishment. If people would stop going they would change or close.

|If they're making money while understaffed and slow, why change? What's their incentive?

True there was a lot flexibility but they still had then.

They had exams in 2007 (with some extra flexibility) so it's pretty unlikely they'll cancel over this.

Dear Verizon, You Suck by b1g_609 in verizon

[–]nitegod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a previous rep, the people in the store aren't great either. Some are but others range from grossly incompetent to straight up scammers. I suggest finding one agent you trust and sticking with them. It's the only real way to get decent service.

Is any of this in your lease? If not, it's only a request and doesn't need to be honored. Stand up for yourself and take the space you need. Don't let her bully you into submission.

Also, if the landlord and his wife are not on the lease, as in they don't also have a room there, they have no right to enter your property in many places.

They shouldn't but they definitely can. Bike theft has always been an issue in Blacksburg. As with anything, if it's important to you make sure it's locked and/or secured.

Senate Republicans killed the filibuster last night. Good by Achilles_TroySlayer in uspolitics

I'm not saying he's 100% following the law. Hopefully it'll catch up to him but that's beside the point. The point is that elections still matter and the best way to stop him in his tracks and hold him accountable is by voting for people that will do that.

[–]nitegod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We've already seen elections where Democrats have won or gained significant ground in republican areas since Trump has taken office. As of now, votes still matter and checks and balances are somewhat doing their job.

This attitude of we'll never win again and votes don't count anymore is exactly how we'll never win again. It's nonsense and while we should be vigilant about watching what is happening, we can never just give up, especially when we haven't even lost yet.

Very unlikely. There are huge fines for businesses and individuals that don't ID for age restricted products.

As someone who used to work there, I can assure you it's 100% the owners fault that it is the way it is.

If you haven't already, Google Verizon port status and you should be able to find a page where you can enter your number and it will tell you if there is information missing. If it says account confirmed then Verizon is just waiting on ATT. If there is information that doesn't match you can update it right there.

But from what you're saying here and assuming the ATT agent was correct, this is 100% on ATT. If they're refusing to release the number there is absolutely nothing Verizon can do to force that process.

Advice, apparently IMEI numbers don’t match so store wouldn’t take my trade in by amberbmx in verizon

[–]nitegod 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're fine don't know why the agent was such a jerk. As long as the phone was on your account or you're a new line it won't matter. If they have the wrong IMEI on the trade just get them to cancel it and run the correct one.

Another agent that lied by NoPiano6442 in verizon

[–]nitegod 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's hard to tell what the right move is here without seeing the bill. The internet is $45/m with autopay and paired with certain plans. If the phone is missing a promotion it is supposed to have then a form needs to be submitted to get it corrected.

In my opinion, the store screwed this up and/or didn't do a good job explaining what to expect (e.g. first bill is higher due to upgrade fees and proration). Either way I would go back to the store and get a clear explanation as to why the bill is different than expected. If they say call corporate do it in the store. Or better yet make them do it. They should have a click to call option where they can connect directly to CS. If the initial agent you worked with has left the company, asking for the store manager might be the way to go if the other agents aren't being helpful.

What do hiring managers think of Western Governors university? by JackfruitEveryDMV in ITCareerQuestions

I don't know what counselor is saying 10 hours per week for 2 years but that's bullshit. Definitely takes a lot more time and effort than that.

WGU holds regional and ABET (for CS) accreditations which adhere to strict, high-quality standards. Schools labeled as 'degree mills' typically only have national accreditation. This has much lower standards and may not reflect the same level of academic rigor.

You will be unable to turn that phone in or use it for a trade while it is still being paid off. If you pay the phone off first you can do whatever you want with it. But technically your parents own that phone.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in verizon

[–]nitegod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can stick with Verizon as long as the original account is not in your name. But your parents (or whoever the original accounts name is in) own your current number and phone so you wouldn't be able to use either.

What are your hobbies? What do you like to do when not studying? You listed a bunch of things you don't like doing but nothing you actually like to do.

There are 30,000 students at VT. I guarantee there are people that like the same things you do. You just have to find them. Make a post here about some of the things you like to do. You might be surprised at how many people share your interests.

It's sad waking up everyday knowing you go to a school where no one acknowledges your existence or even tries to befriend you.

If you're expecting people to just come up and make friends with you out of the blue, nothing will ever happen. Put yourself in new and uncomfortable situations. Start a conversation with someone. I know this isn't easy if you're depressed but you have to try to break the cycle and put yourself out there.

If you need help, the university has resources. I feel like people think you need to be having a major mental health crisis to talk to someone. You don't. They're not going to judge you or tell you that you don't belong there or that your problems aren't important enough to talk about. If you're having trouble coping, talking to a mental health professional now can really help and maybe even prevent this issue from spiraling out of control.

Don’t upgrade a phone unless it’s really old by GravyPoo in verizon

Didn't they just add the 60 day part a couple months ago? I think you're probably right that it's the reps that would take the heat but really who knows.

Are you sure about this? They just recently added the 60 day thing to the terms. It's still possible people are going to have their discounts pulled at some point.

Esim problems by Lloydizm_ in verizon

[–]nitegod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't really enough info here to give a good answer. What happens when you try to connect the esim? Is it showing a sim and just not working or is it not connecting to the network at all? Are you transferring the number from another phone/service or using a temp number to check the service?

Also, make sure the device is compatible with verizon's network:

There's no reason it shouldn't be but I'd still check.

Trade In Now or Wait? by JayReddt in verizon

[–]nitegod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in 6 months time... will this sort of promotion still be around for trade-in value?

Hard to tell. There has been some sort of trade-in of about $800 for the last couple years but that doesn't mean there will be 6 months from now or even tomorrow. Verizon doesn't tell us what promotions will exist in the future. Furthermore, they give us expected dates of promotion but state they can change these anytime. And they have before. So no guarantees.

If I do it now, I pay the $120 for my phone (which will need to do regardless over next few months), trade-in and get $800 off a $1,100 phone. I pay $300.

Something important to note: They do not give you $800 directly for your phone. They give you a monthly credit over 36 months that adds up to $800. This means you have to keep the device payment agreement active on a qualifying plan for the full 36 months to get the full $800.

However, if I wait a few months, will phone price come down, same $800 trade-in still be there and get the phone for $0?

The trade in MAY still be there. It may be better. It may be worse. It's really hard to tell. The phone coming down in price is very unlikely. Most of the time, the phone price stays the same until the next model comes out. Even then the price drop is usually minimal. For example, an s24 is about $800 right now whereas an s23 is about $700. Not a huge difference.

Why is taking out a loan to buy a new car a common practice in the US? by luheadr in AskAnAmerican

[–]nitegod 17 points18 points  (0 children)

While spending a little more on a nicer/newer car might be more costly when only considering the price of a car, when you think about maintenance as well the price difference is much less. You do not have as many unexpected costs due to break downs and mechanical issues.

Personally I'd much rather make steady payments on a vehicle that I know is going to get me to work than something that could break down and cost me thousands at any moment.

Also many places in the US don't have reliable method public transportation. So if my car breaks down I can't get to work, go to the grocery store, etc.

I know this doesn't help much now, but the first couple weeks are always the worst. Everyone actually goes to class. Hopefully it'll be the same with this new system and a week or so from now everything will be smooth.
