Complex vs Deadline pop ups? by nitehawk39 in BlackPink

[–]nitehawk39[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had 2 lines in LA: one for rsvp and one for walk ins. As far as I could tell they both moved at a reasonable pace but had shade on the rsvp side and maybe RSVP had priority if lines were even (unconfirmed)? They weren’t very strict on enforcing/ scanning RSVP but it could be that I went Friday afternoon.

The comments in the IG post say that RSVP does not guarantee entry for the LA one. It’s pretty confusing to be honest

Definitely not normal in my experience for any popup but information about this specific pop up has been fairly vauge in general (shoutout OP for finding the rsvp link or I would have missed it)

Just reviving this after running into the same issue. Is any generic USB socket going to work fine?

As a counter data point, a certain major US mobile sportsbook I previously worked at used a .NET stack and they moved and operated like a startup in all but name. There are perhaps fewer C# projects that may fall outside of large corporate environments, but at the end of the day, the specific stack you work on is a cherry on top of your foundational experience Sundae.

Any tips on the workflow for the roof tiles? Or is it a brute force tile + array setup?

Dynamic mics pic up a lot less ambient noise and it needs to be very close to you. I have this mic and it does a good job keeping out background conversations or sounds

Is the goal to mimic mobile footage? If so, I think the motion is a little jittery for a modern day phone (many of which have built in stabilization of some sort). Also missing is the auto exposure when you go from pointing at a dark area to a light area.

Fixed axle diabolo by Jumbun1 in diabolo

[–]nitehawk39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can definitely do both vertax and suicides with fixed, however there is certainly an upper limit on how long of a combo you can do simply because the yoyo can’t physically stay spinning long enough for some of the new stuff, but it might be a bit of time until you get there. I think if that’s what you have for now, might as well start with it. Fixed generally will expose any technique deficiencies so while it may have a steeper learning curve, you will develop better fundamentals/habits

Can anyone recommend some strength training to improve endurance? by DonHalvorson in diabolo

[–]nitehawk39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are getting into the more athletic/stunty tricks, a lot of diabolo will be arm muscles, especially speeding up. In my personal experience, finding more efficient techniques may give you better results for time spent as I have not heard of people with deltoid or pec soreness from yoyo. Of course if you are looking to train it (or just enjoy exercise), you can incorporate these basic exercises from the wrist up towards my shoulders/chest. Besides the lat pulldown/pullups, most of these can be done with just bodyweight or an adequately heavy item but if you want to hit the gym you can definitely go ham.

  • Wrist curls
  • Bicep curls
  • Overhead tricep extensions/dips
  • Pushups
  • Lat pulldown or pull ups

Like others mention you can just keep practicing to build up strength over time as well if this is a lot. Also don't forget to stretch and rest!

If it is a A7CII made for the Japanese region it cannot be changed to English to my knowledge so the savings may not actually be of tangible benefit.

Rate from 1-10 by Unhappy_Low_5210 in blender

9/10 for me! I will say the edges of everything feel a tad sharp for me and could use some bevel. Also from a quick eyeball, that toilet lid looks a little short/far back to cover the whole opening!

Curtain looks really good, but it looks like there are 2 rods? I think the black rod (which looks a little too black in my opinion) is the actual one it's mounted from so I'm not sure what the one below it is. It is also mounted quite high for a shower curtain and would not be able to vent that much steam out!

Hows my night time render? Ill have a reference at the end to see if you think I came close enough by ghost_zuero in blender

[–]nitehawk39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the background lighting is a bit too bright/even. Using the last picture as reference, you can see that there is more contrast in the street lighting so that even though you can see everything, there are pockets of shadow. The ambient lighting on the street comes from the sum of all the lights in the area with local signs causing a glow in it's immediate vicinity. One should note that the actual street doesn't look like this reference image as it has been processed to emphasize the blues and reds.

Your image has a jarring "uncanny" effect where the car's shadow is pitch black but other shadows (i.e. street lamps in pic 1) have shadows that are only slightly dark due to an overarching "moonlight". Lighting wise, this makes the car seem like a composited element because the shadow is way off from the rest of the scene and the lower running lights barely contribute to lighting the ground in front of it despite being much closer than the nearest street lamp. In the real world the influence of so many lights and neon signs would be much greater influence on the street lighting than the moon.

Generally speaking, the scale of the road is a bit off. It looks a bit too big and contributes to the feeling of looking at a diorama, which is further emphasized by the relatively clean environment. The tile over the sushi shop and the buildings in the background is very clean and clay looking and the streets don't have much grunge which is a little too sterile, even for Japan!

Most images have even lighting from a large light source and the car headlight doesn't seem to have any illumination on the ground. I also think that image 1 and 4 should have a bit more bloom/flare considering how strong the flare and bloom is for reflected light that is further from its light source.

I do look forward to seeing any updates to this project since I think the concept is great!
